Isotretinoin

I'm about to start a course of isotretinoin for acne rosacea, but my blood test results for ALT (alanine aminotransferase) are 44 and my doctor says the reading should be less than 33. If my next blood test (due in November) does not bring the ALT reading down, my doctor may cease my treatment.

I am being treated with Roaccutane (isotretinoin) for acne. 4 months ago I had dryness and irritation on my penis due to the medication. I consulted a terrible urologist and he prescribed me a corticosteroid ointment and told me that I should use it repeatedly, as the ointment wouldn't harm me.

I have been offered Isotretinoin in respect of the lumps and bumps on my chin (which appear to be permanent and progressive, they are not spots).

I read somewhere that a mole changing its color indicates the possibility of skin cancer although I don’t know of any type of cancer in my family so im thinking it could be from the isotretinoin. Any of you had a similar problem?

Hi folks I have been on isotretinoin for 2 months now (2 x 20mg) the big issue I have is sore cracked tender lips , tried the usual remedies any knowledge of what has helped others , cheers

I'm currently on 20mg of isotretinoin. Does anyone know if I can have hair laser removal treatment on my underarms?

My dermatologists just started me on 10mg isotretinoin three times a week for adult acne. I now blush frequently and this can last for hours. I have only been o. The treatment for about a week. Could the isotretinoin cause side effects so soon and at such a low dose?

My daughter has been on 40mg for just over 4 weeks and her skin has become much worse. It's a bit dry but she doesn't have any other symptoms and seems fine on it apart from the massive breakouts all over her cheeks and chin. She's 17 and it's making her miserable. I was looking through an old diary and realised I got diagnosed with hashimotos 6 weeks after coming off the drug roaccutane. After a bit of googling I did find a study suggesting maybe roaccutane is an environmental trigger for hashimotos. Just wondering if anyone else has made this personal link or

Hi all, Need some advice - After many appointments with my dermatologist to deal with my moderate acne, and trying other options, i’ve been given isotretinoin (20mg a day atm) and have been taking it for a week.

because of her reaction to Doxycycline since that episode in 2019 she has tried erythromycin and Benzoyl peroxide gel which made no difference, she was then given Trimethoprim again she had a reaction to this but not as severe as the Doxycycline, she is adamant that she wants to start Isotretinoin as

But I have not long finished my course on isotretinoin. I was on a low dose started on 5mg upped to 10mg… to 20mg.. and finally 40mg for a couple months. I took my last tablet around 6/7 weeks ago. So will be around 2 months by time tattoo comes around.

Hello Everyone, Does anyone have an idea if Isotretinoin (treatment for acne) causes chest tightness or shortness of breath? I am not able to differentiate if this is my asthma or med side effect! Thanks,

Has anyone else experienced liver problems and did they resolve after the course of isotretinoin stopped?

Hi All, been using Rocutane since Dec 31, 20MG dose. I'm 38, with moderate acne on back and shoulders. All was going well until a week ago when I started having pain in my lats/upper back. Next thing I see a bit of redness/rash in this area. It's not that much but I am worried. And that area is painful

I'm 35 and been battling my skin basically forever.....I got referred for isotretinoin a while ago but got scared of the side effects, then in march I went to dermatologist again after a referral from doc and decided right this is it I'm gonna do it!

My 14 yr old daughter has been taking Isotretinoin 30 mg for 6 weeks now. Her skin is much worse, she has dry lips, and dandruff due to dry scalp. Her joints are aching & she’s has tummy pain. She feels she wants to stop as things are worse.

I take my isotretinoin with lunch. I am also on an anti depressant as I have had very severe anxiety and OCD. However, even on isotretinoin I am still experiencing deep painful spots (i always have at least one at any one time).

The only thing that cleared it for me was Isotretinoin (but not fully). I do still sometimes get acne, but it’s never as bad as it used to be. My skin is heavily scarred from it. Have any of you had a similar experience?
