Tattoo after isotretinoin?

Hi guys! I’m new here. I have a tattoo booked in next week for my 21st birthday which has been booked for a long time ( really want it done ). But I have not long finished my course on isotretinoin. I was on a low dose started on 5mg upped to 10mg… to 20mg.. and finally 40mg for a couple months. I took my last tablet around 6/7 weeks ago. So will be around 2 months by time tattoo comes around.

I was just after some advice on getting tattooed after accutane, I know the general rule is to wait 6months but I feel this is quite a long time, I’ve googled and researched about it and some derms say 1 year some 6 months some 2 months and some 2 weeks.

I really (really) want this tattoo done. Would anyone say this will be alright as it was a low dosage and the higher dosage (40mg) wasn’t taken for very long?

My skin seems to be reacting to the sun ok (tanning). Any help towards this will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance :)

Hi,

1.5 years sounds the right course of action. I would go as far as to say that 2 years would be preferable.

Is there really any urgency except for wanting to get it done and to mark a special occasion?
