UK General Election. Campaign for better Treatment of RLS
Iron
therapy, including
iron
infusions should be available as first line treatment and GPs should know the extensive list of medications that actually trigger and worsen RLS, including anti depressants, sedating anti histamines, statins, beta blockers and PPI meds.

Levothyroxine
I would discuss your results with your GP and also let them know what oral
iron
vitamins etc you are taking and make a decision from there. You should be able to book a telephone consultation. Goid luck

Weight Loss Plateau
I take daily multivitamins with
iron
, vitaminc c and b12. I've lost 22 pounds so far but my progress has completely stopped for the last month, no loss. Any ideas on how best to overcome a plateau?

low ferritin/T3 capsules
My ferritin test result is 24 (10-300) Nice guidelines say under 30 can have
iron
infusion? Should I push for that? I picked up my T3 prescription and was planning on splitting them but they are 10mcg capsules.Roma is the brand.

I am taking
iron
to raise my ferritin level above 19 (!) and didn’t want to take anything else such as gabapentin until I had ruled out whether low
iron
is the cause of the problem for me. Hopefully this sleep aid will help get me through this process. There has been a small study ..

RLS and Iron
My doctor suggested an
iron
test but, perhaps incorrectly, I assumed my
iron
levels were OK as I regularly give blood and my
iron
levels are tested every time and have been ok. However, from what I've read on here, I'm wondering if I need a more specific test?

restless legs
He has now suggested an
iron
tablet Maltofer which I am starting today. I have a history of low
iron
, borderline anaemic at times. A few years ago I had two
iron
transfusions, I felt no improvement. For at least one year my rls has been unbearable, daily. Very little sleep.

Informative video on updated RLS guidelines
Iron
and
iron
infusions are also discussed. This is especially good for anyone trying to get off a DA with a doctor who just isn’t giving the support you need. Check it out on YouTube and the recent RLS foundation has a link. “RLS Updated Guidelines &Management Strategies” with Dr.

Low ferritin
My blood profile is good and my circulating
iron
levels are within range but my ferritin level is 5-6 ng/ml. Does anyone have an opinion on the effect of low ferratin on tiredness, motivation or mood? I suspect I have lost some of my drive since I was diagnosed.

Timings of NDT and iron supplements
The only way I can achieve this is if I squeeze in extra doses by reducing the time between NDT and
iron
, which would mean a three hour gap rather than the recommended 4 hours.

Update on ferritin testing issue - private vs. NHS results
Although this is a measure of
iron
stores it is also a marker which goes up if there is any level of infection or inflammation occurring within the body and hence we often see a variation in results as it does not solely reflect the
iron
stores.'

Blood test result - iron
Hi all I have taken
iron
tablets prescribed by my GP for over 15 years. My Ferritin levels were low when I was in my 20s and have taken
iron
tablets since then. I was really unwell last year with an unrelated illness and I haven’t taken my
iron
tablets for a few months.
