Hi, I have just received these results. The report said I have subclinical hypothyroidism. I had RAI nearly 3 years ago due to graves , should I be worried that my levels are like this or should I just increase my dose? Thanks

Heartburn
Hi, I hope someone can advise please? I take 100mcg eltroxin, hypothyroid following RAI for Hyper/Graves. I've been struggling with heartburn for a while now. Was originally put on pantoprazole by g.p. then slowly weaned myself off as I was concerned about being on it for years, doctors don't seem concerned

Suicide.
I haven't been on here in a while but I wanted to maybe offer a little bit of hope to anyone who has been struggling with this condition and felt that they had no other options left to them. I had a major flare up of my RLS about 14 months ago and was prescribed Gabapentin. It took about 2 months

Iodine loading test?
I have recently had a urine
iodine
test which showed I was very deficient. Apparently this test in isolation isn't particularly useful so I would like to follow it up with a 24hr loading
iodine
test. Would my gp be likely to do this if I requested it or don't they do it on the NHS

The state of urinary iodine is not related to either TSH or Free T4
This paper shows that TSH and FT4 in blood does not reflect urinary
iodine
levels. This indicates the thyroid is flexible to
iodine
supply and is robust to limited
iodine
in diet.

AMD in Merseyside / Bootle area
I have treatment in my local London teaching hospital for AMD and corneal dystrophy, and I’m allergic to
iodine
. I’ve had so many injections to both eyes I’ve lost count, but it’s been approx. 5 years of treatment.

Not Sure What I Should Do
I changed doctors and the new doctor gave me radioactive
iodine
to reduce the nodules that had formed on each side of my thyroid then put me back on my thyroid medication. I'm very concerned that my present doctor is also going to take me off of my thyroid medication.

Medication review
I have decided to ask my GP for a medication review after having too many nights with horrendous rls and concerns about the amount of medication I take and the suspicious that my surgery practice hands out tablets like smarties. I would appreciate any advice I could say to my GP over a telephone consultation

Back on levothyroxine, dose upped
And is it safe to be taking things with selenium and
iodine
in them too? Even in small amounts. The GP thinks I was taking my levo all along and my requirements have changed, which is why he upped it.

It wasn't a ruptured cyst, it was a miscarriage, without knowing I was pregnant.
Apologies for the rant, I think this forum is the only place that people will be able to understand how I feel right now, because even I don't understand. Over the weekend after thinking what I had was a ruptured cyst and being told at urgent care that I didn't need to attend A&E, my condition worsened

How painful should a flare get?
I am quite new to RA and seem on an even keel most of the time but get occasional sharp flares that leave me very weak. Last weekend I had a serious flare in my left shoulder, radiating to chest cavity. It began, as they usually do with me, during the night, and by 3am I was passing out with the extreme

Banging noise in ears
Just a brief summary, was overactive had
iodine
treatment been on levothyroxine treatment since. Have been bouncing from 100mg to 150mg to try and get a happy medium, have three weeks ago met middle ground at 125mg. I'm now suffering from ringing in my ears and I'm freezing cold all the time.
