Asking for advice following RAI
My MIL, bless her had an RAI several years ago due to hyperthyroidism. I often wonder if they got it right as she never fitted the profile for overactive. I know she's always struggled with weight gain and if anything I would have said she was more hypo than hyper. Several years later she's never been

RLS - Q&A
Hi RLS survivors I am continuing my Pregabalin journey and wanted to check in with this community to ask out loud various questions circling around my head. The good news is that Pregabalin is making a difference. I get some relief from jumpy legs at night even on a low dose (75mg) What I am experiencing

AF and Arthritis
Hi everyone long time no post! Pleased to say the AF has been quite stable over the last 6 months or so, a few blips here and there but usually down to lack of sleep, bugs and dehydration! However over the last 2-3 months my osteoarthritis has been getting steadily worse to the point I've had trouble

Odd Results?
Long time guys! Peculiar results today. RAI in 2014 and unwell since. Trialing 20mcg T3 and ERFA 30mg TSH 9.04 (0.27-4.2) T4 3.9 (3.1-6.8) T3 10.5 (3.1-6.8) TSH is usually well suppressed so hard to know what to make of these results. Still feel dreadful and think I’ve exhausted these medications

I wonder if my thyroid was going wrong for decades before I became hyperthyroid?
I went hyperthyroid about 19 years ago. My explanation for it has been that it came soon after the birth of my beautiful son (amazing but stressful of course) and then the sudden death of my father a year or so later. I was just rambling on an ADHD forum (DX in 2022 now titrating) and the question occurred

My daughter has a swelling on her neck, can someone advise?
My daughter has been on a school trip away from home. The teachers posted pics for the parents to see and my eyes were instantly drawn to the swelling on her neck. Obviously I'm concerned this is her thyroid. After 4 days the swelling has gone down, however I can still feel it slightly. We're booked

Shingles - does anyone have any advice?
morning all It’s been quite a ride…my ear started bothering me a bit on Monday . Just a small uptick in tinnitus which I tried to ignore. By Tuesday I was a bit worried because I have had total hearing loss in the past due to auto immune attack which was only (partially) restored due to mega doses of

Help please
I had cellulitis in both legs about 2 months ago. This has left me with open wounds and fluid running down my legs. I have other health issues and I can only have cotton against my skin. I literally can't eat, sleep or drink anything but water because of the pain and I can't deal with the wound care

Pregabalin concerns
Hi RLS survivors Update to previous posts: GP has prescribed Pregabalin for RLS. Currently been advised to take two 25mg tablets before bedtime. First night was great. No symptoms but still some fractured sleep. Since then, my legs have been truly awful. Jerking, moving from 2am/3am until morning

Is it Gallstones?
hi, I’ve been experiencing upper right pain under my rib that radiates into my upper back. (Feels like I have a bag behind my ribs - Strange I know) I’ve become feverish but no temperature. Doctor has given me 30mg of Codeine Phosphate to take but it isn’t helping the pain. Anyone recommend stringer

Hi everyone... feeling pretty dreadful right now... I was in theatre yesterday due to an infected sebaceous cyst on my back that just appeared overnight. In the last few days I had erythromycin for 3 days which severely upset my stomach followed by 6 days of clarithromycin...neither helped. Now I'm on

Genetics Specialist??? Why?
I have had crazy reactions to CT Scan
iodine
which isnt that uncommon, however, when I do, it directly hits my feet (after shoulders and arms which goes away fast) and then I get the skin literally peeling off my feet. Its very painful. So the allergist ran tests. All negative.

Hi, I have recently had surgery to remove my toes (metatarsals), I burnt my foot over 3 years ago and it wasn't healing. I kept getting infections, and eventually they had to amputate. The opperation was in February, the wound is healing nicely but i am getting a lot of nerve pain, spasms on the sole
