Helping a teen with ADHD with Organization in the classroom/backpack!!
He is on methylphenidate and also
Intuniv
. He was on the verge of failing last year and we managed to do it. We managed to end the year with all A’s, B’s, and one C. Which is a real miracle.

Intuniv
My son is doing well on methylphenidate but his doctor wants to switch to
intuniv
to decrease some of his impulsive and hyperactive behavior. Can anyone share their experience with this medication?

Adult Child in the House
With no formal diagnosis of ADD but identified as "impulsive", and no medication, (we tried
Intuniv
in middle school and was unhappy with effects) he is living with me and my new husband in a 2 bedroom duplex of less than 1000 sq ft.

The drugs he should be taking the metabolize correctly are Dixedrine, Adderall XR, Vyvanse and for non psychostimulants Strattera or
Intuniv
. Now I am not sure what drug to pick for him. I have heard of Adderall but I am not sure he should have a stimulant or go with non-stimulant.

Newbie on here.....
While he was there they introduced him to
Intuniv
as a booster to the vyvanse. That worked for about 6 weeks. Simce then he has started acting like its "his world", what he wants he gets right then or all hells about to break loose.

7 year old with anger issues
He is on Sattera and
Intuniv
. Helping some but the
Intuniv
makes him so tired. He has problems with impulse control and stays in trouble at school and anywhere else when we are not there. Any ideas on what might help?

Looking for the light
He is in middle school and on 30 mg vyvanse and 1 mg
intuniv
. He starts to rebound right after school and we go through an emotional roller coaster. All of the homework never gets done no matter how much structure there is. I could removal ALL distractions and he will start doing hand stands.

Trying to find a combination of medicines that don’t cause irritablity.
It seems that with the stimulants my son becomes very irritable and when we tried
Intuniv
he didn’t feel good and often would have an exhausted dip late in the day and just crash out sleeping along with irritability.

New
This past Friday we started him
Intuniv
. We have a lot of issues at home with following directions and fighting with his sister. I feel like I am loosing control. I tried and discipline using time outs or taking electronics away but he does not seem to care. I am looking for help!

The Medication Game
The
Intuniv
does a great job with the hyperactivity but we need something to help him with his focus as he's struggling academically. Any thoughts?

Intuniv side effects
We recently switched our son to Guanfacine, the generic version of
Intuniv
- a non-stimulant. I have know people who have taken Guanfacine and have had tremendous results, so I was hopeful.

New to the site
He takes 15mg of Adderall in the morning and 2mg of
Intuniv
in the evening. The Adderall wears off at approximately 3PM each day and he is an emotional wreck. The
Intuniv
is meant to help with sleep but my son wakes up multiple times throughout the night.

So his doctor said we could try out
Intuniv
for a couple weeks on the lowest dose. Has anyone tried this medication? Thoughts?
