7 year old with anger issues

Hi. I am new to this site. I have an adopted son who is 7 years old. He has ADHD and PSTD. He is on Sattera and Intuniv. Helping some but the Intuniv makes him so tired. He has problems with impulse control and stays in trouble at school and anywhere else when we are not there. Any ideas on what might help?

Hi there. I'm not a doctor, but to me it sounds like he needs a stimulant. We started with just intuniv too, but had same results as you. Really the Ritalin type drugs help with the dopamine production which help with executive functioning. .. Which help impulse control. After a year of trying different combinations we do Vvyanse and Seroquel... Every kid is different. My grandson is on Wellbutrin and intuniv. Had lots of trouble with drowsiness at first but now that has all gone away.

My other grandson is on Strattera but also has risperidone because he has a lot of anger problems. Stimulants made things so much worse for him. It's just trial and error to see what will work
