Urologist appointment did NOT go well. ☹️
I had a urodynamic test done on Wednesday to set a baseline for bladder function, since I was diagnosed with progressive relapsing ms in January. I was totally in shock with what the dr found. Atonic bladder and bladder sphincter dyssynergia. All of that means I have to self catheterize on a schedule

Ascending Aortic Aneurysm Repair
I will go to have my aneurysm repaired on May 16th. I am frightened, but trying not to be too fixated. I will have a cardiac catheterization and a echocardiogram on the 16th, and then the following day I will have my surgery. Depending on the results of the testing on the 16th, I will either have an

BPH Newbie
Hi, I have had BPH for a number of years, things have got steadily worse to the point where I was having difficulty passing urine, although it took a while I got there in the end, this had become the norm for me and I had learned to live with it. Lately, urination had become harder so I saw my GP and

Uncle in ICU for 12 days after a heart attack and doesn't wake up
Hello everyone, Quick summery: My dear uncle went through a heart attack, surgery and sedation multiple times in 12 days. He moves a lot but doesn't wake up. We would be grateful to get your advice, hopefully someone here might have known a similar case. My uncle just got back from a trip overseas

Botox injections for overactive bladder.x
Hi folks. After a year of bladder training, two different meds, tests and scans, I'm going to be having Botox. I'm petrified. I'm not sure I'll be able to do the self catheterisation, I have training for this next week. And I really don't know if I can go through the procedure with just local anaesthetic

I don't feel ready to return to work but I'm feeling pressured.
I am married with 3 children aged 17,14 and 10. I have battled with anxiety and depression and self harming for 14 years, I tried to take my own life twice but with the help of psychiatrists and counsellors and the right balance of medication which I still take regularly day and night, I felt it was

Husband on Imbruvica, went into sudden cardiac arrest
My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 CLL, went through one round of RCVP chemo with no results last year, so was started on Imbruvica in June 2017. The change in his health, energy level, and blood counts was absolutely remarkable. We told everyone it was a miracle drug. Then without warning, my husband

Between two stools (as usual)
I spent Thursday afternoon at the Bristol Heart Institute after I had an emergency appointment following a gp appointment just before Christmas. I had the results of the heart catheterisation. Everything is moderate, and there is some surgery they could do to improve things if it wasn't for the lung

My AF history
I think it’s the time for me to tell my story, so I don’t to look like an intruder in this forum. I had my very first episode of AF during a hard fought tennis match (since I was an assiduous tennis player for many years). At that time, I had just turned forty years old and was in top physical form.

Intermittent Catheters and Catheterization
Clean Intermittent Catheterization or CIC is a procedure in which you learn to catheterize yourself when you need to urinate, by inserting a catheter into your urethra, usually about four times per day. The catheter is inserted and then the bladder is drained until it is time to urinate again. Clean

Roundabouts again
The heart catheterisation was early, and I thought good, I will be recovered before the cataract surgery. So today I get a call from the Ophthalmology department at the Royal Gwent to say that the surgeon is not happy about the short time between procedures so the cataract surgery has been postponed

Well, just returned from the BHI where l had a thorough review and discovered I am to have an angiogram and a left and right heart catheterisation. Lugged the concentrator around with me until I finally gave up when I discovered that the haematology department was miles away and took the offer of a wheelchair

Cause of liver enzymes continuing to rise? ALT and AST
Just an update- when we went for his 3rd chemo last week the blood tests beforehand showed his liver enzymes had risen again- to just under 200. PSA is down to 68. We had gone off all supplements after 2nd chemo due to enzymes being high. Because we went off all supplements (except D3, Omega 3, and

Cataract surgery
I have finally managed to contact the Ophthalmology department and actually arrange a date for surgery. It has been so difficult that I think they live in old mineshaft somewhere in the valleys, but when you contact them eventually they are so lovely and helpful. Anyway have got a date, 14th November
