Overactive Bladder - Tolterodine stories?
Hi! I have always been that person who is constantly needing a wee break. I have spoken to my doctors about it before, but its really starting to get in the way of my sleep, needing to get up at least 4 times in the night. They prescribed my Tolterodine Tartrate today and I'd like some opinions? I have

Melanoma Recurrence after 10 Years
Hi everyone, my name is Corey, I'm 31, and have recently found a recurrence of melanoma after almost 10 years NED. In 2008, I had a WLE of a mole removed from my left calf, as well as SLN (which tested positive) and 20 lymph nodes (not positive). I was stage IIIA at this point, and completed the year

First dose of Interferon
Well, last night I had my first injection of Interferon Roferon A, which was interesting. I took it about 6pm and within an hour was very achey, which led to what can best be described asfull on flu/fever/nausea by 10pm. I took some paracetamol and by the early hours started to feel better. Today I feel

Interferon v Peginteferon
If one chooses to go this route, which drug is most likely to be prescribed in the UK. I assume INF weekly doses but possibly greater side effects? Peg can be taken every two weeks and meant to better tolerated? Thanks

Interferon alpha frequency
I have been on interferon for about 6 months. Now down to two a week. Finding fatigue day after injection becoming much much worse. I know some people at Liverpool have a weekly injection. At what stage was that started. My behcet is under better control although still got eye problems😕

When to start medication?
Hi all I had a clinic appointment last week and when I got to the hospital, discovered that my usual haem was unfortunately on leave for 6 months. They’d therefore drafted a replacement in whom I saw, who immediately recommended I go on hydroxy or Interferon. Now, my usual haem has seen me for 4 years

Interferon A
Looking for some advice, I was diagnosed with ET/PV in December JAK2 positive. Am awaiting my BMB results next week to clarify. I was started on Hydroxy straight away due to my platelet count but was changed to Interferon (Roferon A) after this due to my age (which I was happier with). I have been on

Fascinating drug comparison table
This has been posted on MPN-Net, not seen it before. Since every specialist seems to have a different viewpoint I’m not sure how reliable it is but definitely food for thought! This Table published by Dr. Hasselbalch earlier this year summarizes the differences between interferon, hydroxyurea, Jakafi

Recently diagnosed.
Hi, I am a 48 year old female who has been recently diagnosed with MPN- ET (JAK2) I had a brain hemorrhage earlier this year and the blood disorder was discovered. I think I must have cried for days when the term cancer was mentioned!! My symptoms are extreme fatigue and pain. I am on Interferon and

Interferon dosage?
I have a question for PV patients, being treated with Peg-Interferon. I am a 51 year-old, who was diagnosed 2 years ago. I began taking 45 mcg of Pegasys, seven weeks ago. I was doing very well, as I have had minimal side effects, have been feeling less fatigued, and have had improving blood levels.

Haem appointment disappointing
Hello everybody I just want to vent a little, hope that's ok? I have ET/Jak2 and on InterferonAlpha. Went to Haem this week and although the interferon has helped me considerably I have been experiencing severe hip and girdle pain, which I told him about. His response, 'well we'll run out of options

MPNs and Wine
Has anyone had any problems with Wine, having to restrict intake? Obviously not an ideal supplement to HU or Interferon and all depends on level of consumption but for example, is HU equivalent to say 1 unit of alcohol per day in terms of potential liver damage. Or more toxic/less toxic? Just wondering

I started Peg Interferon
And no discernible side effects. I gave myself a 90 mcg injection on Friday night before bed. Slept well, woke up fine yesterday. Ate normally, did errands. Slept well Saturday night and seem fine today. The only possible side effect is mouth sores...I have 5 of them this morning. Can they happen this
