Reducing T3 are these results normal?
I have been taking T3 since the beginning of the year and was doing great but my insulin sensitivity went downhill badly and I realised it coincided with being on T3 (which other people have experienced) . Due to other dietary and health changes I was hopeful I could get my thyroid to function again

Inulin - may help sleep and constipation
My daughter recently bought me some inulin to try as she had heard it can help you sleep. I can't honestly say it helped me sleep at the time, but a side effect is that it is helpful with bowel movements!! More recently I took some on holiday with me - for my bowels, and this time I do think it helped

A lot of dietary advice from the NHS is outdated or confusingly represented.
I have lost 25Kg (56lb or 4 stone) in 6 months on the Keto diet with intermittent fasting. A lot of the foods the NHS diet recommends spike blood sugar and cause insulin resistance. Insulin resistance causes immense harm to our bodies, and the number one thing for your health is to become sensitive.

How should you break your fast?
There are about as many different strategies for breaking a fast as there are for fasting. Carbohydrate spikes blood glucose, which spikes insulin, which rapidly brings down your blood glucose - making you hungry. I do not need to be on a keto or very low carb diet, and my regular daily carb breakfast

Sudden drop in libido and sexual function (male) in late 30s
This started about 9-12 months ago, but I'm unsure if it is just a natural consequence of ageing or if it is due to a medical/psychological problem that needs the attention of a GP. It started when I was 38 and seems to have been getting worse during the course of this year. I started noticing it becoming

Science shows meat causes insulin spikes
I would be interested in low-carbers take on the science presented here which shows how paleo and low carb diets cause insulin spikes by as much as just sugar, far more than carbohydrates. Please don't just criticise Dr Greger - I am talking about the science here, not the messenger. Also I don't want

Reduce risk of type 2 diabetes with this simple diet plan
Choosing an adequate diet to prevent and control diabetes can be very hard to find. There are many diet plans which have proven to be non-beneficial. After the use of many drugs, patients are not relieved. The secretion of insulin, which is a need in diabetes treatment by the Pancreas, shuts down.

Connection between T3 and insulin resistance
Would appreciate others' comments on this: http://www.tiredthyroid.com/insulin-resistance.html The reason I'm asking is because I've been struggling with highish blood sugar and insulin levels for years, so basically insulin resistance, and that has not improved on NDT - if anything, got slightly worse

IVF and diabetes
So I don't know if this will help anyone here, but having been through a few IVF rounds with a few different clinics I thought I'd share what I learned. 1. IVF doctors know pretty much NOTHING about diabetes. Your GP can tell you that your blood sugar levels are perfect but unless they're in normal (
