Hello, my first time posting here. My fiancé (48 male) was diagnosed in the ER with cirrhosis caused by alcohol about 3 weeks ago. They said his liver was enlarged so they did an ultrasound, we went to a GI doctor a few days later and gave him a meld of 28 and put him on 2 fluid meds for ascites. He

My mum has been doing well. She has settled into the nursing home - since September. Two weeks ago she moved downstairs to a ground floor room opening into the garden with an ensuite and is very happy with her room. The only problem is that my mum hardly sits down and is up most nights wandering around

My IBS
I’ve had IBS all my life and it’s got worse the last few years to the point of going 10 times a day (on a good day) and I’m basically addicted to
Imodium
(Loperamide Hydrochloride) to help me go through the day.

Hai, I'm Catherine (user names were gone so I just typed whatever worked). I've been "skulking" around here since I gave myself a concussion in November. I stay quiet cause I don't really think I have much to offer folk on here... there are folk worse off than me and "it's only a concussion" (...that's

No medicines are working on my daughter. Tried Movicol with senna/ sodium picosulphte/ biscodyl.
Hi. Apologies for the very long text but I'm at wits end on what could be wrong. I've searched every where for a case of constipation like my daughters. She is 11 and has had two losts of disempactions in the last 8 months. The first worked but gave her a lot of bizzare symptoms including chest pain

How I Conquered Heart-Disease and What I Have Learned in the Process
Before I relay the story, please read this first: What is the nature of your diet? Do you consume: - soft drinks, alcohol or fruit juices? If so, how often? - pasta, rice, bread, pizza, potatoes? - potato chips (crisps), pretzels, crackers? - fried foods (including fried eggs)? French fries? -

🍇 My tiny fruit bowl 🍇
I’m very good at buying fruit but not so good at actually eating it. I usually grab bananas and apples and often they start to get past their best so I decided to buy fruit that I would actually eat. So I have this tiny fruit bowl which is actually a rose bowl. I bought a small bunch of grapes, small

Help with supplements/dosing please?
Hello (I am currently on 25mcg a day of levo. I definitely feel underactive, having particular problems with inflamed gums that I have posted separately about. I also have Grave's disease (in remission)). Had blood test in December to check my vitamin levels, would welcome thoughts on changes to supplementation

Post ablation issues
I have to use
Imodium
or I would not be able to leave the house!! Surely this can’t be from the Cryoablation? At first I put it down to recovering from the GA, as I know that can affect the bowels, but not after 6 weeks or more?

Sodium
Stage 2 CKD, Do we need to limit sodium because of blood pressure concerns or is it hard for kidneys to process, or both? When I asked my doc should I limit my sodium intake he said no.

Zytiga side effects
Zytiga works by blocking mineralocorticoids, glucocorticoids, and Androgens and Estrogens. Prednisone makes up for the glucocorticoids but why is there no therapy given for the mineralocortoids which upsets the sodium and potassium balance.
