SIADH??

Im new here. My dad was dx end of July w/extensive SCLC one lesion in lung, node in mediastinum, something in the brain they couldn't determine if cancer or not. After 2 tx w/ carbo/etop what was seen in brain was gone, lung lesion in half and node scarred. last chemo tx early october and follow up scan end of Dec. Scans "looked" good with no increase in lung lesion though brain showed tiny infarcts. Just hospitalized with extremely low sodium and imbalance of electrolytes. He was discharged 2 days later home with sodium chloride tabs and restricted fluids told SIADH. Does this mean that the cancer has returned somewhere it isn't showing up on the scans?? What should I be looking to be done now for him?

Sorry to hear about your dad. However this is a multiple sclerosis group not a cancer group. I suggest that you find a cancer group that is better equipped to provide support and maybe answer your questions. Also ask your dad's doctors about what is going on with the exams.

Good morning and welcome to the family Shayjay from Fancy! We're glad you have found this and we promised to provide you a safe place where you can come and ask questions, voice concerns, and simply speak to others who truly understand what you're going through as it relates to MS. The first thing you need to understand as we are not doctors and we try not to offer medical advice. We just share common experiences that might help you to better understand what you were going through and tell you what we are doing and have done to see if you might try the same thing. Cancer is a whole nother Realm and you need to research that area on your own and look for doctors to get opinions and help from. We cannot however offer a whole lot of advice about a whole different health issue.

We can give you our support and concern though and hope your dad does much better and that has cancer is truly receding and not hiding somewhere else to pop up and be found the later date. Take care and know that you're in my thoughts and prayers and I hope that your dad does better and that you also continued too due well. Fancy.
