Persistent bowel infection
Dear all, A while since I have written. I was struggling for a year or two with colon pain and seemingly uncontrollable IBS-D. I had a colonic MRI scan done which found I had diverticulosis (side-pockets on the colon). I did not have all the symptoms of diverticulitis (inflammation of the pockets

Advise please, long flight travel with IBS
For the first time in my life I am now able to do as I please more or less (aside from a decrepit body), So, I've decided to bite the bullet and hopefully travel to Japan, a country I have long wanted to visit but flight time scares me as I hate being cooped up for hours. I don't want to spend 17 hours

Time to come off Ropinerole 4 years after being on Pramepexole 7 years. What else can I try????
I've been on these and both caused augmentation and with both was increased to maximum dose yet still had restless legs causing sleepless nights, anxiety and depression. Before I went onto medication I found out I was severely anaemic, I don't know how it happened to me as I was previously fit and healthy

any info please
My consultant has suggested I try Valproate or Levetiracetam for my RLS/PLMD. Has anybody tried either of these and had any success or otherwise?

Not wanting sleep
Does anyone not want to face going to bed because waking up means immediately facing constant bathroom trips? I dread waking up as soon as I’m vertical I need to go to the toilet and after 5 or 6 times and a couple of Imodium I can finally drive to work.

The 'Brain Energy Gap' and its possible implication on the progress of PD.
Has anyone else seen the work of Professor Stephen Cunnane on the 'brain energy gap' and its implications for PD, Alzheimers and cognitive impairment? I've put a link to one of his talks below, but to summarise: - Cognitive impairment and brain health in PD, Alzheimers, is due in part to an 'brain

Travellers Diarrhea
Has anyone ever been abroad before and came back with diarrhea? I actually managed to get through 12 hour flights and 3 weeks in Brazil with only a couple of bad episodes .. thanks to Imodium helping me through. The day we were due to fly my stomach was so bad which was not unusual for me with anxiety

chronic diarrhoea 4 days.
I honestly feel like just stopping the prednisolone. It’s one thing after another. Nothing is staying in my stomach and I feel so weak. Any advice appreciated. Do I take Imodium? 🙏

Will lower dose of Nintedanib stop the terrible side effects?
After a long wait, a bronchoscopy and endless CT scans and lung function tests, I finally started on the standard dose of 2 x 150 mg Nintedanib at the end of February. The first few weeks weren’t too bad, my gut was unhappy and I experienced the expected diarrhoea. Took Imodium as advised. But then

DBS stopped working
I’m looking to see if anyone has experienced similar DBS results, I had my DBS(GPI) surgery on 7/31 and immediately had positive results before the switch on. It felt like I was cured but I knew that this was the honeymoon phase. After a week or so my symptoms returned until I had my first programming

But as I've been experiencing dizzy spells and anxiety etc I would like to change to something that wont affect my sodium. I've tried felodpine and ramipril. I don't

Blood sodium levels
Stage 3b My last labs over the past year have had a decrease in my blood sodium levels. Last test was 131. Nephrologist said I need to start eating more protein as that helps to keep sodium in your bloodstream instead of getting out in your body tissue. I don’t have any edema and take a diuretic. Not

DBS update
So gang. 3 months following DBS. I had it done because my dystonia was getting so bad and the reliability of the meds was open to question. I might thrive on a particular dose of Madopar and then the next day would be stuck whilst on a walk after having taken the same. It was very hard to plan anything
