My Gabapentin Dilemma
And then I started experiencing augmentation and
ICD
. I was able to slowly taper off the Pramipexole about 2 years ago. Now, 2 years later, I’m still trying to find something that will work on my RLS. So, 2 years ago I started Gabapentin with 300 mg which had no effect on the RLS.

Subcutaneous icd
Hi folks,I now have a date in October for a subcutaneous
icd
. The one with the lead not going in to the heart. As it is being implanted a year after my heart attack I presume I will be barred from driving for a month, not six months post op? Anyone had any problems after this procedure?

No diagnosis - still in hospital on my 34 th day!
Early rush to diagnosis , perhaps with extreme hospital pressures was for an ischaemic event(90% of similar events) and a decision to implant an
ICD
( defibrillator). However,I was symptomless , and the echocardiogram came back heart structures and EF okay.

I had an
ICD
fitted in 2013 after my heart peaked at 345bpm according to the HRM in the back of the ambulance. The device did its job 6 months later after an episode and kicked 15 times rather than the recognised 3.

ICD fitted
I had an
ICD
fitted in June of this year and it's nearly time to apply for my driving license, I have a form for my consultant to fill out but not sure if after they have filled it out do they send it back to me or send it straight to the DVLA as I have to fill out a form myself to reapply for my license

Re USA psychiatrists wanting to keep FND in DSM so they can claim their fees via the DSM codes ... according to DSM there are no DSM codes.
The codes appearing in DSM-5 in addition to the
ICD
-10-CM codes were
ICD
-9 codes. These codes are no longer valid since
ICD
-10-CM codes replaced them in the United States starting October 1, 2015. Clinicians should use
ICD
-10-CM codes to submit claims.'

What is life like with an icd?
I'm a very active person. 44 years old. I love to run. Is that still possible? What can I expect? Any information would be greatly appreciated... So daunting.

Struggling Wife
My husband had a Cardiac Arrest last year that resulted in a long hospital stay and a
ICD
being fitted. He is positive and doing well with the adjustment, I however am not doing so well. I was present during almost all of the attack and subsequent treatment from paramedics etc.

ICD - DVLA rules says LV EF >35?
Implantable defibrillator
ICD
and DVLA - the driving regulations says the LV EF must be over 35? Is this right? So if you get a 1 month ban say if the
ICD
does pacing do you then need to prove an EF above 35? If so how? Will the cardio order an echocardiogram?

Ablation for VT
More recently. following another heart attack, I had a stent fitted then they put in an
ICD
. Frustratingly, the
ICD
was fitted as a precaution should my heart go out of rhythm.

ICD AND MOVING TO FRANCE
I currently have an
ICD
fitted and wonder if anyone has any experience of moving abroad with this and how they got on with the the inspections and changing of batteries when required. Sure I will find the answer as we go through the process but this site is normally a good source of information

Troponin Levels ...always a sign of heart attack? How high can they go?
Collapsed in race resulting in 2 stents and
ICD
. Recovery difficult for 1st few months but then got up to walking 5-6miles per day. Two weeks ago started running. Very light. 2 succesful runs of 2.5 and 3miles with break half way. Last week overdid it(?) ran 4 miles.

Updates on icd and swimming pool
I posted the same question in "living with an
icd
support group" on facebook. More than 80 people answered, only one lady had been shocked due to electrical interference. She was in a pool with under the water lights being repaired.
