IUD expulsion....twice!

Hey, so I was recently diagnosed with Endometriosis after many, many years of being told it's just a heavy period, you'll just have to get on with it - thank you male doctors.

So now I have a diagnosis and my GP recommended the coil as a first plan of action. After insertion my coil came out after 3 days, so I went back a month or so later to try again and this time the coil lasted a whole 3 weeks! There was no cramping or signs it was coming out until it appeared in my underwear.

I just wanted to see if anyone had any experiences like this and what I can try next. I really don't want to go for a third try with the coil. I can't get an appointment with my lovely new GP until the end of the month, but it would be nice to go along with a few ideas to chat through.

I'm seeing an amazing acupuncturist who really helps and I'm using a myoovi which helps with the cramps.

I've just started my period today and I just feel so deflated that I have to deal with ANOTHER heavy period with no end in sight. I know the coil wasn't a magical cure but it I was hoping it would help with the flow and take the edge off the pain.

Hi, I don't get on with the coil at all, I've never expelled it but my body has tried it's best to the point of rocking up at A&E with birth like contractions begging them to take it out. I tried a third time with no sucess so if I was you I wouldn't bother trying.

My next step in controlling the endo and hopefully a break from heavy bleeding is going to be a progesterone only pill, you should be able to go to your gp and request this pretty easily.
