I have been offered a bi ventricular pacemaker and ICD as a result of my history of ischemic heart disease, various conduction issues, 30% ejection fraction, slow pulse rate. It is hoped getting both ventricles to beat together will improve pumping function and my general wellbeing. The device will also up my resting heart rate to 60 from sub 40 at the moment.
It all seems good. Do any of you have advice or similar experience to share?

My husband had an ICD implant 5 years ago following a cardiac arrest. We see this as his very own onboard paramedic. We live a very 'normal life' now and are starting to enjoy travelling again following Covid. There are only two things that affect him. 1, He can't go near the induction hob in the kitchen (he didn't before!). and 2, Airport security checks are quicker for him as he bypasses the scanner.
Our advise is, listen to the professionals and if they think it is necessary then go for it.
A bit sore after the operation but otherwise a great piece of kit that keeps me alive. The aftercare has been excellent here in Stoke, still seeing the cardiac nurse after 10 months.
