Hysterectomy questions
Hi everyone, I’ve been told that (finally) I’ll be allowed to have a
hysterectomy
for adenomyosis. I was wondering if anyone could share their stories so I know what it’ll be like? I like to be prepared so I’m interested in both good and bad stories.

Anybody had multiple surgeries to remove endo, then total hysterectomy?
At what age did you decide on the total
hysterectomy
? Do you wish you had done it sooner instead of going through multiple surgeries prior? How was recovery after your earlier surgeries compared to after
hysterectomy
?

I'm feeling particularly curious at the moment as to how long it will be until my
hysterectomy
given the impact on waiting times due to Covid. Fingers crossed not too long!

Holistic, Happy, Healing Hysterectomy
In the last few weeks pre-op, I decided to see my
hysterectomy
as a 'gateway' into a new beginning. I did a lot of meditation and breath work and I was able to use some of these techniques in the hospital, just before and after the surgery.

After effects of Prostap, the menopause or codeine withdrawal? 🤦🏼♀️
Has anyone experienced the menopause straight after a total
hysterectomy
? I know there’s an increased risk that it’ll happen in the next 5 years but it didn’t have to be immediately as I kept my ovaries. So confused. Thanks, Vicky

Refused surgery!!! Help!
We then got our GP involved and suddenly received a letter for
hysterectomy
surgery pre-assessment appointment (October). Then saw a letter to GP saying diagnosis high grade 3 serous endometrial carcinoma, so googled it - rare aggressive type, poor prognosis.

Does a hysterectomy work ?
Hi, has anyone else had a
hysterectomy
for a prolapse ? My GP has said I'm now having a rectocele as well as my prolapsed bladder. I have a ring pessary, which has worked up until now and use Vagifem as well. I'm 68. My question is does a
hysterectomy
work ?

When you get fed up and email Mr Bojo Johnson 🤣
I was then told I needed a
hysterectomy
and removal of the ovary, but first I must go for an MRI! Which I did in March. In hospital November my ovary measured around 5x6cm Complicated Cyst, Abscessed.

3 months ago. My uterus is positive for endometriosis however my ovary bowel and omental deposit were negative. I was just told well it looked like endometriosis so I can be discharged from clinic.

Can I request a hysterectomy?
I have deep infiltrating endo on my bowel as well as a 5cm endometrioma on my left ovary and a polyp on my womb. I went to see an endo specialist this week who was very helpful and understanding and is going to put me forward for a laparoscopy. She is however waiting to have meeting this coming week

Adenomyosis and hysterectomy
I really want a
hysterectomy
but my Gynaecologist doesn’t seem keen. I’ve already had children so I don’t understand why she seems to think it’s ok for me to stay in this pain. Could anyone give any advice on what I can do? Has anyone had a
hysterectomy
because of adenomyosis? Thanks Steph
