Hi Iam new on here, but I’ve been worried the last week or so , firstly it started with like period pains in lower abdomen, can’t be though as Iam 68 and had hysterectomy 14 years ago...then when I sat down I had pain going up my bottom to my lower abdomen, I feel windy ,plus not constipated, no blood in stool...but I do have a split ,which bleeds known again when I wipe my bottom but not at moment , the pain n lower abdomen does come on in the night and wakes me up !!
I did ring my doc Friday she said take paracetamol for pain !! If continues she will have me in to examine me ...has anyone on here had similar , my minds working overtime 😨

Hello Deary63 ,Thank you for posting in Colon Cancer Connected. Sorry to read about what you are going through, that sounds very uncomfortable and just flat-out painful.
Are you up to date on your colorectal cancer screening? It would depend on what method of screening you have been getting, but guidelines are typically that if you have no family history and no symptoms, that you be screened by colonoscopy every 10 years. (Should polyps or other issues be found during a colonoscopy, the frequency of how often you get screened would increase).
There are so many possible reasons for your pain, and we would encourage contacting your doctor again. If the pain ever becomes too much to bear, seek emergency services. Again, there are a number of possible conditions or diseases that could cause you pain, some very minor and easily treatable, others less so -- which is why if anything is "off" about ANY part of your body, we will always encourage that you speak to your doctor about the issue.
We're here as well - and can help give encouragement to make that call, to seek a second opinion! Please keep us updated when you have a chance.
