Symptoms of ET or Hydroxy side effects?
I had no symptoms then and was put on small aspirin until going on
Hydroxycarbamide
500 mg daily in January this year. I wonder if anyone with ET suffers with 1. Bone ache in upper back, specially after walking 2. Ache in Right side round waist (not Left which would be Spleen). 3.

Update on my mouth sores
I saw my oncologist two weeks ago, and she has stopped my
hydroxycarbamide
to see if the mouth sores go away ( then knowing that it’s the tablets causing the sores ) I am in my second lot of two weeks, and just two days ago, the sores have started again.

Extreme fatigue
(ET for 5 years, diagnosed with myelofibrosis in April this year) He was taking
hydroxycarbamide
(not sure if I have spelt this right) for his ET and was started on Rux for myelofibrosis. However he continues to need the hydro at the same time.

ET since 2001, now anxious about changes in blood counts
I was diagnosed with ET in 2001 and, with a few ups and downs, it has mostly been stable on
Hydroxycarbamide
, Anagrelide and Aspirin until now. At my last appointment, my haemaglobin had dropped to 96, platelets 109 and WBC in the 20s (but have been stable around that for a year or so).

High platelet count? Anagrelide? Hydroxyurea?
Hi everyone! I’m new here and have a few questions. My husband is 26 years old and was recently diagnosed with primary thrombocytosis after a visit to the ER. His blood test results came back with him having a platelet count of 1 million. He’s being seen at a military hospital and was referred to internal

Just a wave hello!
I've been reading your posts with much interest and feel a bit of a fraud being amongst you because I'm told that my case is a mild one (platelets under 500, sorry, I can't remember the exact figure) and medication (
Hydroxycarbamide
and aspirin) a low dose.

Update!
I’m reluctant to go back onto
hydroxycarbamide
. I think that by interfering with your immune system it leaves you open to other things. Am I talking rubbish ?

Platelets rise
I'm on
hydroxycarbamide
5 days 500mg 2 days 1000mg. My platelets have been below 450000 for over a year. However my blood test yesterday platelets are 580000 so increased to 1000mg for 3 days. Asked Haematologist why this may be that platelets have risen but no answer.

Diagnosed ET - wondering about symptoms
I've been on
hydroxycarbamide
since Jan. Also on clopidogrel, perindopril and atorvastatin. I'm on the road to recovery and was v lucky regarding the stroke and not been left with any permanent damage and I'm getting used to the drugs.

Recently diagnosed with ET
I started on 500mg of
Hydroxycarbamide
but platelets still high so it's been upped to 1000mg daily. Only side affect is that I feel very tired, I'm ok all the time I'm doing stuff but once I stop I just want to sleep. I just wondered if anyone else has this symptom.

High MCV
Hi, I have PV and being treated with
hydroxycarbamide
1000/1500mg alternate days. This seems to be keeping main bloods under control apart from a steady increase in my MCV level.

What fatigue?
Hello everyone, had a haematology appointment yesterday, following an increase in
Hydroxycarbamide
my platelets are within a normal range. Struggling with fatigue and having made adjustments to my working week, my haematologist asked how long I have had fatigue.
