This is really an article that should be read by anyone that has ever suffered from Mouth Ulcers caused from chemotherapy, and the kind that often evolve after taking HU...
This might well prove to be a new treatment for relief from HU non-melanoma skin cancers and mouth ulcers, that are generally very hard to treat in many people.
Apparently, HU causes many of those complications, and Ruxolitinib can further exacerbate those complications too...
There may be some general 'Conflicts of Interest' with this new Laser Light Therapy article, but I thought it was worth the read in any event...
I know there are others here too that have also suffered from mouth ulcers that seemingly will not heal properly. In my own case, I have a mouth ulcer that developed when taking HU that never completely healed, and it has now been quite sometime since the cessation of my taking HU, (c. 2.4 years).
HU article extract:
"The ulcers are caused by a reduction in cell viability that occurs when hydroxyurea disrupts the S phase (synthesis) of the cell cycle. Hydroxyurea inhibits the synthesis of DNA, which causes damage to basal keratinocytes and hinders the production of collagen. Inflammatory mediators that are derived from platelets and related to myeloproliferative disorders may play a role in causing the ulcers. Treatment involves stopping the hydroxyurea therapy and applying a moist wound dressing. The ulcers do not respond to conventional therapy alone and will not heal without cessation of hydroxyurea."
There are a couple of other articles referring to aiding the healing of HU Leg Ulcers:

PPS. I can provide a peer -reviewed academic article concerning the claims behind HU possibly causing non-melanoma skin cancers and mouth and leg ulcers, in some patients...
