Beta blockers
I'm 68, female with NASH/ Cirrhosis which is compensated. I have recently been prescribed 1.25 mg of Bisoprolol Fumarate (beta blocker) but I'm so anxious about taking it as my GP seemed unsure about any effect on my liver. I was wondering if any members take beta blockers with no ill effects? I'm also

🤖 ChatGPT on Cancer-Fighting Exercise💪 vs PCa
ChatGPT, the free AI research tool provided by OpenAI, is surprisingly good at summarizing some topic of interest that one might be interested in. I submitted a long question this evening on "
exercise against metastatic prostate cancer progression

Hello. I have had chronic consipation for for over 30 years and rely on suppositories to get my bowels working. More recently I have had loose & fragmented stool with bouts of diarrhea. Difficult for others to understand but even when I feel a neeed to "go", I usually need suppositories to get started

Hi I’ve been suffering from haemorrhoids for a few months. It’s been getting better very gradually by eating a very high fibre diet to keep my stool very soft. But this has had the side effect of causing urgency several times a day. It’s making it very difficult to leave the house. I’ve had ibs for

follow up sigmoidoscopy
I go for my follow up sigmoidoscopy on Tuesday to check for regrowth of my precancerous polyp that was removed 6 months ago. What are the chances that these regrow in the same spot and if so, could they already have turned to cancer if they grow back within 6 months? The closer I get to the test, the

Is it the time for initial treatment?
As I previously stated, my wife was diagnosed with CLL in 2020. Her markers are 13q deletion, 12 trisomy, and TP53, with IGHV muted. She is still in W&W form. So far, I've learned via reading literature and numerous posts about lymphocyte doubling time, lactate dehydrogenase, and lymph nodes. Her lymphocyte

can understand your concern but try not to worry. For me the worst thing is the bowel prep. Ensure you’re near a loo! During the procedure I was shown how to use gas and air effectively and it really worked well for me. I also had sedation- don’t be brave! I was given Buscopan at the end of the

Afinitor +ESR1 mutation for the hive mind.
Hi I am starting Afinitor on Wednesday after a mixed scan a few weeks ago after 6 months on Orserdu. It suddenly dawned on me that Afinitor is combined with estrogen therapy, likely an AI. But doesn't the ESR1 mutation cause AI resistance? In which case does that make Afinitor less effective? I will

13 year old boy, pain around/just above belly button, struggling to get any diagnosis or find anything that helps.
My son has had pain around, or just above his belly button since end Nov. It went away for 2 weeks, and has since been bad again for another 3, preventing him attending school. Eating doesn't seem to affect it, and he is going to the toilet normally. We have tried

colitis and Psoriasis
Hello, I’ve recently been diagnosed with colitis and also experienced some Psoriasis. Some people seem to think this all leads back to the liver. I just wondered if anyone had a similar experience and if there are tests available to see what I can possibly do?

Post Rheumatology Appointment
Thank you to everyone who gave me advice for my Rheumatologist appointment yesterday......it was my first one and I thought I'd give an update on my experience at Benenden Hospital. I have posted this as a response in my original thread too but thought I'd start a new post to see if people found it useful

Hi, I’ve suffered from stomach issues since December 2022. The obvious stuff - bloating, constipation and then diarrhoea, minor cramps, and nausea etc. I’m in my 4th doctors appointment for the problem, and all my blood tests are clear. I’ve recently been given IBS relief tablets, but I’m hesitant

Not believed
I was sent to Rheumatology last year as my hand keeps swelling and I can’t bend my fingers. This was after many years of other issues but I never put the puzzle together and thought I could have been suffering with an autoimmune disease. I have suffered with Angioedema since 2017, with my face blowing

Abdomen pain - IBS
I have suffered with IBS since for 35 years and the pain was always on the left hand side and lower bowel. Had alternating constipation and diarrhoea but managed with occasional use of fybogel. For the last couple of years however have had terrible upper abdomen pain and bloating too. Have had gastroscopy

New to this website and am looking for some advice :)
Hi, I’m a 19 year old female who has suffered from IBS my whole life, literally since I was a baby. I have EDS, PoTS, Endometriosis, GERD and Gastritis. I had H.pylori from the end of 2017 to April 2019, undiagnosed and untreated for over a year because my gp said that I was ‘attention seeking because

new MBC drug for PIK3CA mutation in Hr+HER- breast cancer survivors
On Nov 16, 2023, the FDA approved another drug for those who have developed the PIK3CA. Mutation after first line treatment for the HR+HER- type. It’s another drug in the same vein as PIQRAY which also has to be used with Fulvestrant. This one is from AstraZeneca but it seems to have all the same side
