can understand your concern but try not to worry.

For me the worst thing is the bowel prep. Ensure you’re near a loo!

During the procedure I was shown how to use gas and air effectively and it really worked well for me. I also had sedation- don’t be brave!

I was given Buscopan at the end of the procedure and the pain wasn’t bad.

It’s uncomfortable for sure but it’s ok.

Totally agree with @Talulahjuanetta. Prep was the worst. The colonoscoscopy was OK and I hardly needed the gas and air. All the best.

I had 2 of them in a month I agree with what others have said all ready I found the prep stuff far worse than each colonoscopies themselves as I never knew when I was going 2 stop pooping but if you follow the instructions that they give you all should be OK just another tip do "NOT" take iron vitamin tablets for at least 7/10 days beforehand as I was told it doesn't give a true reading and if possible wear TENA pants if you can and carry a spare change of clothes better to be safe than sorry well I wish you all the best xx take care

Don't forget the wet wipes (but don't flush them!). Lots of great advice on various websites. And don't forget to bring someone with you if you want sedation (I did have a colonoscopy with no sedation because I was alone; cramps beyond comprehension!)
