Why am I still putting on weight?
Had a
hemithyroidectomy
in November 2019. Haven’t been diagnosed as hypo but am taking Metavive 3 as my thyroid function was getting progressively worse. My last blood tests were very good. I take natural HRT (including testosterone) and last hormone blood tests were good too.

Advice please
Hi, I am 39 yr old female who had a
hemithyroidectomy
at the end of September 2020 for what turned out to be a benign nodule. I am doing ok but in the last month I have noticed that I am losing a lot more hair than normal. It isn’t that thick in the first place.

Thyroid and vertigo
My thyroid function has been gradually getting worse since a
hemithyroidectomy
last November. I’m currently self treating with Metavive III which I started with 1 tablet and have increased to 2 tablets since my last blood test, so I’m hoping things will improve.

Post hemithyroidectomy in June 20
Hi, after developing a cough, loss of voice and breathlessness I had a right
hemithyroidectomy
end of June, nodule of 7.5cm. Was told it was large and no cancer. Have made good recovery although now feeling so tired and gaining weight (unusual for me), TSH back at 6.3; T4 10.

Still waiting for a hemithyroidectomy date - anyone else?
Anyone else still waiting for a date for surgery to remove nodules? I wouldn’t say mine are ‘suspicious’ just undetermined. Been waiting for a surgery date since March and it’s driving me bonkers not knowing 🙈 My children have named the lump ‘Larry’. I’m very keen for Larry to go away now lol. x

High TSH levels, normal T4..should I retest?
Recently had a left
hemithyroidectomy
for suspicious nodule, biopsy results in keeping with an autoimmune possibly variant of Hashimotos. 6 week bloods back show that I have a Serum TSH level 9.07 mU/L [0.35 - 5.5] and a Serum free T4 level 12.2 pmol/L [10.5 - 21.0].

Medichecks results
I had a
hemithyroidectomy
in 1996. I’ve never taken or been offered meds as the docs have always said my TSH was ‘normal’. However, I’ve been at my wits end because of extreme exhaustion along with a whole host of other symptoms.

Palpitations after Metavive 1
Morning, I had a
hemithyroidectomy
in November last year and in late December I started taking Metvive 1. I started with 1 tablet a day and, after 6 weeks and blood tests, went up to 2 tablets. I take 1 before breakfast and 1 before bed, that was about 8-10 weeks ago.

Hypothyroidism and dry throat
It’s been 4 months since my
hemithyroidectomy
and I thought I would be completely back to Normal. But I now feel worse than before the thyroid removal.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed !
. 😊 Oct 2018 R
Hemithyroidectomy
for suspicious nodule which turned out to be benign but there was an incidental finding of a 3mm papillary carcinoma, no further treatment as they were confident it was fully removed.

Post hemithyroidectomy op
It’s almost 3 months since my partial thyroidectomy due to thyroid cancer and it’s been a roller coaster ride of emotions and recovery. I have hypothyroidism. I went back to work on phased return ( I’m a teacher) and find that after talking a lot my voice becomes hoarse and I’m forever clearing my throat

Lump in throat feeling post surgery
Hi all, I had a
hemithyroidectomy
at the beginning of November last year to remove a large benign single nodule. I’ve never been diagnosed with any thyroid condition but my thyroid function has always been sluggish.

Advice on my blood lab results
Meadowsmom: Repost for Responses I had a
hemithyroidectomy
in October 2017 due to thyroid cancer. I have been religiously followed by doctors for follow up and so far no cancer recurrence. For the first year after surgery medication was not required and I was well.

New nodules after removal of half thyroid from hurthle cancer
Aspiration was inconclusive so went in to have
hemithyroidectomy
. I had hurthle cancer in the early stages so cancer was removed when rightside was removed, hadn’t gone outside markers. Went back for one year check up today and have new nodules on left hand side.
