Metoprolol and hair loss.
This may not be relevant to anyone reading this but I had an experience about 3 mo. ago concerning metoprolol. I had taken for my heart for over 2 years. I began losing my hair at an alarming rate. My cardiologist said to stop the metoprolol and begin Cardizem CD. The hair loss has moderated but

Woo hoo heart surgery 🫀
Asking for anyone’s experience of surgical ablation as opposed to catheter ablation? Was told yesterday by cardiologist that my case has been reviewed by local teaching hospital with the EP team & they hope to do a surgical ablation (if I want it). Now some people would not opt for surgical treatment

Changing from Lovenox injections to Coumadin
Is there a standard INR for those on Coumadin/Warfarin? My nephew (CAPS survivor) is transitioning from Lovenox (been injecting twice daily for almost 2 years) to Coumadin starting this week. Dr. checked his baseline INR a couple days ago and it is 1. How do they determine where they want your INR

Low heart rate
Does anyone else get a low heart rate with bad diziness and breathless and tiredness? Had ekg,a etc and it’s not came up with anything and they said they only look for heart block and I ain’t got it, dunno if it considers low but it will go in to like 51 and I go dizzy

Not sure if related to hypothyroidism
( Interestingly, the examination did not cause him to comment on my
heart

. I had forgotten to mention it when he asked about past heart health or investigation comments. I have had it for life so do not think much about it.

Ongoing AF with low HR
My AF seems to be back after four blissfully trouble-free years (for AF that is, not life in general, lol) . It started last Wednesday out of the blue and has continued ever since. Occasionally I get a reading on my Kardia of Sinus Rhythm with Supraventricular Ectopy, which is what I thought it was

Low blood pressure following AF episode
Does anyone else experience low blood pressure after an episode of AF? I had an AF episode yesterday afternoon which continued until the early morning. Now my heart rate is back to normal sinus rhythm but my blood pressure is very low (87/52). This has been happening for the past few episodes and

Good news for those suffering from heart failure, you CAN recover, I DID, thanks God.
First sorry for long post but it could be really helpful to those with heart failure. Nov 2019 ejection fraction at 15% , Mitral valve regurgitations (means not even pumping the 15% out correctly!), Got steadily worse, movement severely restricted, 80-year-old man fitter than me..and i was very fit

Irregular palpitations
Hi all. I've recently been diagnosed with PAF after 2 years. I'm on 1.25mg bisoprotol and apixaban. I had a telephone appt with cardiologist and getting a novacor monitor fitted for 7 days to monitor my heart. Also waiting for echocardiogram. Since being on medication my HR hasn't gone above 100. However

A&E fiasco, palpitations, heart attack, bigeminy beats, back home for dinner.
Hi gang, Just had to put this one down for the historical record. Friday telephone appointment with cardio rehabilitation ( I have never seen anyone since leaving cardiology ward, only phone calls) conversation as normal except I had been having isolated missed heartbeat events, maybe 3 or 4 ocassions

How long did it take you to recover after heart bypass surgery?
Hi everyone I had emergency heart bypass surgery about 14 weeks ago. I have spent the “classic” 12 weeks off work, focused on recovery etc. Eating and sleeping is fine, and more or less adjusted to meds ok now. I also do the BHF cardiac rehab level 4 a few times a week, and try to walk about 5 times

Edoxaban switch
I have just had a phone call from the pharmacist at my GP surgery. Because recent blood test indicated that my kidneys are not functioning well, he is suggesting that I change from Apixaban to Edoxaban 30mg as this will ensure that there will not be an excess of anticoagulant in my body which could
