Diagnosing Heart Failure?
I am looking for some advice from others who have been in a similar situation or know more about blood tests and heart failure please. My husband had a Mitral and Tricuspid valve repair 2 years ago but nothing could be done regarding his AF. Since COVID he’s been pretty much left to get on with things

How bad is it?
Does anyone understand BNP levels mine is 2963ng/L I think normal is between 0.0. 150. I think it indicates heart failure but not sure. Before I can have echocardiogram privately I need referral from GP who would you believe it is off sick!!

Error with meds
Hi. I forgot to take my meds yesterday morning. Didn't realise until I felt strange and was about to take my evening meds at 10.30pm. So I took morning meds. I now need to take meds again in order to bring back to morning dose over two days. I am fine taking flecainide and blood thinner since I take

As per my previous post I’ve recently had lots of blood tests due to being tired all the time. I rang to see if the results were in and have been told the GP has referred me to Cardiologist for an echocardiogram. I hope to speak to GP in the morning subject to getting a telephone consultation. Hello, Recently diagnosed with afib, cardiologist prescribed blood thinner and metoprolol 50mg daily. Now, my BP is 120/80 , my resting heart rate is 55, and the frequency of my afib is every 8 to 10 days, I know this is a question for my cardiologist but I would like to know from the experience of

NT-proBNP Level query
Trying to line up a few questions for a Cardio call in December and cannot seem to find this bit out. My last Se N-term pro BNP conc result was 444 ng/L, is this the same as pg/mL? It came back as abnormal with normal given as 0-400, I`m 66, so could I have Heart failure as no one has said I have.

Did I have a misdiagnosed heart attack?
I went to the ED a while back for flu-like symptoms and fever after a surgery. They admitted me due to elevated troponin levels (243) and tachycardia at rest (118bpm). I had an EKG, echo, and chest xray, but was only told they looked "fine". I was eventually discharged with the one word diagnosis "pericarditis

Palpitations at night
I had a third ablation nearly three weeks ago and am in sinus rhythm, but I'm having trouble sleeping because of an uncomfortable thumping heart when I go to bed, that keeps me awake for a while, though it's OK in the mornings. After the ablation my consultant told me to halve my Bisoprolol dose,

Challenging the TSH Mantra - what to do next? (long post)
I mentioned that I was very well aware of being in a thyrotoxicotic state having previously been overmedicated on Eltroxin resulting in weight loss, palpitations,
heart
murmur
and seizure but that I currently had no such symptoms and felt well.

RLS newbie
Hi all, I was hoping you could give me some advice about where to begin, as I'm finding reading through the posts, although very helpful, also overwhelming! I have self diagnosed as having RLS for about 20 years. It has been relatively ignorable until the last few years. Now it is affecting my sleep

Any help?
I am pretty much at my wits end with insomnia. My Father recently passed away, and I have struggled with ànxiety for many years. I actually live in Thailand, and have been seeing a psychiatrist for years, and I have been prescribed 0.5 MG clonazepam 2 times a day, and 2mg clonazepam at night, but

Are Anticoagulants necessary?
I was diagnosed with PAF over two years ago following two episodes of fast AF which lasted for less than six hours. I was given IV Metoprolol in A&E and discharged on Bisoprolol 1.25mg daily. I have been well and active since but my cardiologist is keen for me to take anticoagulants as my CHADsVASc
