Can Anyone Help?
I’m currently abroad and have ‘spanish tummy’. Anyone know of any reason I can’t take Imodium or Dioralyte with Flecainide/Bisoprolol or Apixaban?

Exercise after heart surgery and cardiac rehabilitation
Today it is 2 years since my AVR at Harefield Hospital…. It was done during Covid so no visitors whilst I was in hospital and afterwards there was very little in the way of Cardiac Rehabilitation so I went searching online and was so thankful I found Angela Hartley. She is behind “Healthy Hearties” and

ALP and when to add 2nd line therapy
I was diagnosed Feb. 2022 ALP was 307. Started URSO right away. ALP went down quickly - In July 2022 it was 107 but October 2022 was 119 and April 2023 was 120. So my specialist wanted to add ocaliva. I convinced him to give it another 6 months before adding anything and he agreed. So I am praying

Bisoprolol and arrhy
hi I am on 2.5mg daily of Bisoprolol. My question is does Bisoprolol reduce episodes of arrhythmia or does it just reduce heart rate? I have paroxysmal AF and GP has recommended increasing the dose to 5mg daily but I am reluctant as I am a runner and my resting heart rate is 45-55 BPM, sometimes lower

Just diagnosed with Atrial fibrillation
Hi I was diagnosed with A-fib a couple of weeks ago via an ECG trace on my Kardia mobile. I am now on Apixaban 5mgs twice daily and Atenelol and have been advised that an ablation is the best way forward. I only have had 3 episodes to my knowledge and so it paroxysmal but makes me feel pretty unwell

Op cancelled & statistics
My AVR scheduled for 2nd May has been cancelled because my CRP level is high. I've asked what the level is, and how it compares to a normal level and acceptable/inoperable level, but the surgeon's secretary didn't know, neither did the pre-op team at the hospital, and I don't know when/if I'll be seeing

Genetic Testing
Hello my husband had heart bypass surgery last year and a heart attack after angiogram. His grandad, dad and sister all have heart conditions. The hospital said last year they would be doing genetic testing and our two children (9&12) would be tested. We still haven’t heard any and when my husband finally

Not prepared for the anxiety that follows heart surgery
Almost 9 weeks post mitral valve repair and Aortic valve replacement. It was all quite sudden. I was hardly prepared for the valve repair but woke after 8 hours of surgery to find I had also had Aortic valve replacement! That was a lot to cope with! Now I have so much anxiety! An Update to Tokyo Update
It's 5 months today since my mini-maze with Dr Ohtsuka in Tokyo. Yippee !!! 🎂 I will save the song and dance for the 6 month milestone, save to say that I am in NSR each and every day for the whole day. I take zero medications and do not require an anti-coagulant as my left atrial appendage was removed

Anti coagulants or blood thinners?
A friend has recently been diagnosed with AF and another friend told her one of her drugs was a blood thinner. We were on a zoom call and I chipped in saying it wasn't a blood thinner it was an anti coagulant. The friend said that her husband (with AF) was on blood thinners. I started to doubt myself
