My AVR scheduled for 2nd May has been cancelled because my CRP level is high. I've asked what the level is, and how it compares to a normal level and acceptable/inoperable level, but the surgeon's secretary didn't know, neither did the pre-op team at the hospital, and I don't know when/if I'll be seeing my surgeon before a new date is given. How can I find this out?
Also, I have a very analytical mind and would be interested to find out how many heart operations there have been in the UK in the last complete year (i.e. 2021-2022), split into into various sub-sections, presented in written and pie-chart format:
- successful/not successful;
- valve replacements/other issues;
- cancelled/not cancelled, split into valve replacement/other issues:
- whether cancelled because of patient medical issues/strikes and/or industrial action/lack of resources (nurses, beds, etc);
- into regions;
- into individual hospitals.
That is going to take a lot of research and multiple graphs, and I'm hoping someone has already done it.
