Reduction in blood thinners
My Mam had a double
heart
bypass
in July 2019 after CA and many HAs over a 6 year period. Her body just didnt like her stents! She has recovered well and is doing more more than I've seen her do in years, which is great.

To ablate or not to ablate...etc
I finally received a telephone consultation, 6 months after my A&E admission for a fast AF. The A&E discharge report said "AF disorder SUSPECTED", and recommended a 24-hour ECG. The latest AF is only my second event in 5 years. I had an AF a year after my heart attack (stent inserted); the consultant

My husband had a
heart
attack a few weeks ago and then had a triple

. He’s at home and recovering well. My problem is me. I feel so low and depressed. Why is this? Does anyone else relate to this.

Hey everyone. I hope you're all looking after yourselves. I haven't posted here for a while - evidence that my post-AVR life is going well I'm pleased to say. This is just a short post to say I've been asked by Guy's and St Thomas's (the hospital where I had my AVR in 2018) to take part in a virtual

Apixaban side effects.
I have a new cardiologists. Hurray! He has taken me off xerolto, because of many violent nosebleeds. He says apixaban hopefully will reduce or eliminate these bleeds. My question is has anyone had any disturbing side effects from apixaban? I am starting on it today. Other than nosebleeds life is grand

Should I worry after heavy fall?
I was carrying a very heavy bedside cabinet and fell on the floor, no warning nor trip that I'm aware of. I think I may have fainted. Anyway, serious bruises to my arms and a hefty wack to my chest. Now some serious pain in chest mechanics and some loose clicking in ribs at bottom rib level. I had open

London to Birmingham canal walk
A year ago I discovered a brother I never knew existed. I was born in London in 1960 and Mike was born in Birmingham in 1946. We have met in between lockdowns! I have survived three heart attacks, I have been stented, had angioplasty and CABG. My partner Ruby and I felt it would be appropriate to walk

Spinal Stenosis
I was then diagnosed with Chronic
Heart
Disease and underwent a Triple
Bypass
and Mitral Valve Repair. (I’ve also now been diagnosed with
Heart
Failure) When I next saw the back Consultant he said there was no point in further back surgery as more new scar tissue would form each time.

Heart Transplant
Has anyone else with Cardiomyopathy been told that their only option left is a Heart Transplant? Just received this info from Hospital 4 days ago and it's left me feeling so numb. Is anyone else going through this.

Hanging on one day at a time
The last few months have been such a roller coaster! In the past month alone my husband has had surgery for a kidney stone and a few days ago he had a gastric bypass. Soon he will need to have surgery to replace a disc in his neck. His spinal cord is compressed and the longer he waits the more function
