I'm back ;) Advice re mother & functional B12 deficiency
D3 looks ok at 104 nmol/L,
Haemoglobin
A1c 5.7% [4-6.3] & IFCC standardised 39 mmol/L. She was really ill this week with what someone said sounded like a flare-up of the Ulcerative Colitis & I'm going round next week to go through some of the stuff I've learned on my journey.

Just one thing I wanted to ask before I go...my immunologist said I shouldn't be having breathlessness with such high
haemoglobin
, but I thought polycythemia can cause that because of the sluggish blood flow etc? Am I wrong?

Menstrual Cycles, Anaemia and Vitamin D Deficiency. Should I have coil fitted to prevent periods. So I can stop taking iron? Advice please
Results showed I have anaemia- very low on
haemoglobin
. About 8.7. I think. And very deficient in Vitamin D. About 6.6. Dr asked me about my menstrual cycles. I told her I have very heavy periods. I have been on mefenamic acid since 2007 for this problem.

Breathlessness....
Both oxygen and CO2 bind to the
haemoglobin
in the red blood cells. Giving too much oxygen can push the CO2 from the
haemoglobin
into the bloodstream, causing CO2 levels to rise in the blood.
