Do I have Hashimoto?
Separately, my
Haemoglobin
estimation is slightly high at 147 (range 115 - 145) but Gp not concerned. Also my serum calcium is slightly low - 2.19 (range 2.20 - 2.60) and Gp recommended taking supplements but I’ve read somewhere I shouldn’t take supplements?

Please help - feeling unhinged
TSH - 1.8 (0.35-3.50) T4 - 13.1 (7.5-21.1) As several of the other tests have come back abnormal (total white cell count, red blood cell count,
haemoglobin
estimation and some others) he is sending me to an endocrinologist. Lupus and celiac ruled out.

Iron supplementation and flares
My
Haemoglobin
is at its lowest ever level at 91 and my ferritin is 10. I am starting to feel quite tired now and need to nap during the day sometimes. I haven't been able to successfully treat my anaemia as I seem to react in a weird way to iron supplements.

What to ask immunologist
It became clear that I was not absorbing oral iron properly and I received IV iron three months ago, which has raised my iron and
haemoglobin
and has made me feel moderately improved. I was recently diagnosed with H Pylori which was treated with antibiotics.

Awaiting diagnosis
He said I was not anaemic but my
haemoglobin
was a few points lower than it was last time (I can’t remember the number) so has put me on iron tablets for 2 months. I’ve been taking this for 1 week so far and have noticed I don’t get head-rush anymore when I stand up too quickly.

Breathless forever!
I found out that I have persistent macrobiotic anaemia, but this is not the same as anaemia, as my
haemoglobin
is fine. The hospice rang me yesterday, and the nurse explained that the change in my blood cells is due to my last lot of chemo. (Carbo/Caelyx) .

Pegasys update
I’m hoping my
haemoglobin
will also. How I wish to be above 100. Am I asking for too much? On a different topic I stumbled across ‘The Spoon Theory’ Thank you very much to whoever posted it. It’s brilliant.

anaemia now high potassium
I went for blood tests today, one reason being my low
haemoglobin
but the nurse said it was also being tested for high potassium along with numerous other thinhs. This is the first I had heard about and the nurse was concerned that the doctor would phone me tomorrow.

Dagnosed Prediabetic?
I was recently summoned by my surgery to have a
Haemoglobin
A1c level blood test for type 2 diabetes, which apparently I had 3 years ago, but do not recollect at all. The result was that it was 42 mmol/mol (whatever that means?) an increase from 41 in 2018.
