Home dialysis question
Has anyone had experience with both home hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis? If so, what were the pros and cons for each.

AV fistula or AV graft?
Hi everyone I've been on
haemodialysis
for just over 2 months now, since vasculitis destroyed my kidneys. I am due to have the operation to create a fistula as soon as I get a date through from the hospital.

Home hemodialysis supplies
My hubby passed away and I have a months worth of supplies. Any ideas on who may be able to use them. My renal center said that must be thrown away. Considering the cost I am reluctant to do this

Worried about post transplant swelling.
Hi, I am a 20 year old on
haemodialysis
with no swelling issues. I am somewhat concerned with how I will look post transplant. (Live related donor, if that makes any difference) How bad was your swelling and how did you deal with it? Thanks.

Need advice for backup power supply for doing home dialysis
My husband has been on home hemodialysis for two years. We want to get a backup power supply for the dialyzer in the event of a power failure. We know nothing about how to go about this. Does anyone else have a backup power unit for their home equipment? Thanks.

Do anyone need Hemodialysis Home Supplies?
Hi everyone, We are newly home from a liver and kidney transplant and have a large number of dialysis supplies that we no longer need. We had just ended our first week of home dialysis when we got the call for the transplant. The supplies are new and in unopened shipping boxes. I hate to see this go

Help, with home hemo
I am hoping someone can help me, or at least give me information. I am new to the forum. I had been doing PD for about 18 months. I decided that I wanted to change to home hemodialysis as I feel the PD was really affecting my quality of life (not to mention the time commitment). I have just begun in-center

Living on dialysis
Hi jayhawker its Mj 1965, its been a while.b4 I started dialysis I wanted to go on
haemodialysis
but I was advised by my nephrologist to go on PD dialysis because if I went on
haemodialysis
it would make me feel worse and I would feel drained all the time.

What next?
Given my history, I highly suspect that this lesion is malignant, which will probably mean the loss of my only kidney and
haemodialysis
ad mortem. Is anyone else in my situation? How do you manage it? I am 58 and receive care in the UK.

Home Hemodialysis without a partner
I am very frustrated. I want to do home hemodialysis without a partner as I do not have one, however my Nephrologist says no. I belong to a group that has been trained in and does home hemodialysis without partners and do not understand why I could not do the same. Any Ideas or suggestions would be

Dating with Scleroderma
I have had 2 episodes of renal crisis (I'm now on
haemodialysis
), my lungs cant expand fully because my chest is so tight and I have myositis which means I have pretty weak muscles. At the beginning of the year my long term partner and I seperated because of the stress my illness was putting on us.

Finally Got The Call
It was time to Start
Haemodialysis

Haemodialysis
(HHD) which also had its dramas but I weathered it. I was called in Oct ‘17 but I didn’t get it. I was second choice.
