Because of bloating and pain I also had amylase and
H
pylori
, however the doctor didn’t tell me that if I’d been on antibiotics 2 weeks prior to the test that this could give a false negative so may have to do this again. My stomach has calmed down a bit but but still not quite right.

Probably a Dumb Question
According to the article individuals with Type A blood are more likely to have stomach cancer and
h
pylori
infections. So, I am wondering if people with Type A blood are more likely to have B12 deficiencies. Has anyone every read any research about this?

Two very frustrating experiences. Cancer is not always the problem.
About 20 seconds into listening me talk about this my naturopath doctor asks me to get a lab test for
h
pylori
. turns out I had it. Also turns out that avastin, the drug I was on in my research shows that about 15% of patients end up with gastrointestinal ulcers.

PA B12 and H Pylori???
From researching various sites and coming across
H
Pylori
several times, I assume there must be a link between this and PA. I received eradication therapy around 3 years ago after testing positive during a gastroscopy for
H
Pylori
.

No Ranitidine, no alternatives available, chest pain, indigestion, impact on ulcerative colitis.
I was
h
pylori
positive 3 years ago but after eradication therapy had a negative result, but still with symptoms. A gastroscopy after 2 weeks with no acid suppression showed a duodenal ulcer, erosions and gastritis in the stomach .

First Time Post on the IBS Forum IBS & Gerd
I'm not ceoliac ,
H
Pylori
negative , not anemic , FOB/FIT and Bowel Screening negative. Plus I went private for a full CT Scan with contrast in Feb this year which was clear thankfully. The Gastro Doctor prescribed the usual Esomeprazole , Cimetidine , Mebeverine and Gaviscon.

MRI scan of lower bowel for B12? Confusing phone consultation with gastroenterologist
I asked him if
H
Pylori
had been tested for and he honestly sounded like he had never heard of it. After a while he said something about the camera during the scan but I don't know if it was tested for. I repeated my question three times.

Self isolation
Went to GP because I had
h
pylori
bacteria last year when I was admitted to hospital. After blood and stool tests I was told I am ok. But I've been so sick. Losing my balance can just about walk and lost my voice.

Parietal cell antibodies / myocardial antibodies
I was infected with
h
.
pylori
and was prescribed antibiotics and antacids as a treatment. The combination of the infection and treatment destroyed my stomach. My body created antibodies against my gastric parietal cells and my heart, myocardial antibodies.

Off topic article from Nature, H. Pylori pops up on the forum & is more common in those with low stomach acid
H
.
pylori
infects more than half of all people, and has been linked to peptic ulcers and gastric cancer, which kills more people worldwide than all but two other cancers.

New to the IBS Forum I have chronic IBS C
All bloods and celiac ,
h
-
pylori
and the FIT tests are negative , just waiting for FBC and Vitamins blood test results. What I can't work out is why my bowels will not work without the use of laxatives. I have made significant life style and diet changes (increased fibre and almost excluded bread).

Active B12 levels
I’ve been treated for
h
pylori
and was put on a PPI which I’ve since weaned myself off of. I sent off for a private active B12 test last week and it’s come back with an active level of 150. Do the recommend levels cover total or active?
