This question is a bit personal, and I will try not to offend any one.
My Hubby was diagnosed about nine years ago to the point of him nearly looseing his life to organ failure throe dehydration, he has never regained the weight he once had and finds it impossible to build up muscle,we make every effort to avoid getting ' glutened ' and this question is about bowel habits

(I'm New!) Coeliac and just awaiting the results of my thyroid test - has anyone else been diagnosed with both conditions?
Hi, I am new to this forum, I was diagnosed coeliac around 15 years ago after suffering with the condition undiagnosed throughout my childhood and teens. I follow a strict gluten free diet successfully but recently went to my GP as I have very bad dry skin and constantly feel cold, often losing circulation

I was just put on a low FODMAP and gluten free diet by my gastro doc while I am being tested for everything under the sun and I have been on it for a couple of days now. Only thing is, I have had the VERY WORST headache and gas EVER!!! Is this something that is normal? My doc is highly considering

Hi. Has anyone else experienced very low defence against digestive infections - possibly linked to low stomach acid?
I have what seems to be an incredibly low defence against digestive infections and am desperately trying to find out why. If I imagine that most people's defence are an 8 or 9 out of 10, mine seems to be somewhere between 0 and 0.5 - literally!! I'm falling ill once every two weeks or so. I have been

Gluten free diet
Has anyone gone onto a. Gluten free diet? I read an interesting article through another parkinsons site that this could be beneficial to pwp, I am looking into it today for my husband, also asking his physician to order blood work to check on celiac.

Does anyone follow a gluten free diet out of choice for healthy lifestyle benefits?
Do any of you follow the gluten free lifestyle for health benefits? My dissertation topic focuses on consumer choice of gluten free pasta, focusing on the group of consumers that have no adverse reaction to the gluten protein. Having been diagnosed with coeliac since the age of 7 (15 years!) I have seen

Daughters iron level 5 and only rose to 9 with supplements
Hi My daughter was treated by Dr. S last year. She always knew she had low iron and her G.P. gave her supplements. When she Saw Dr. S he doubled the supplement. She has just found out her iron level was 5 before supplementing and still only rose to 9 after taking the iron. She does not know her ferritin

GP appointment today - this is what's come out of it...
Well, this is what has come out of my GP appointment, most of which I already knew. TSH has gone up and down like a yo-yo over the past 7 months. First it was 22 in May, 4 in August after starting the Levo, 4.3 in November and 4.6 in December. (Normal range 0.27-4.2) FT4 is back within range from being

An advent of ideas 12: forbidden foods?
Anyone reading my posts here will know that I have concerns about the fearfulness around food which exists for some people, for some even a morally tinged good/bad issue and the way in which food avoidance is almost a hobby (just as dieting can be) I was interested recently to read Beyond Temptation,

Have you tried everything and still feel unwell?
There have been lots of posts and questions on here lately from people wondering what to do next. Is there anything left that you can try to make you feel better? Maybe your blood tests don’t accurately reflect how you feel. You may think you’ve tried everything – you’ve tried all the thyroid replacement

What the heck do all these test results mean? (and sorry its a long post!)
So I finally have a copy of all my blood test results since thyroid problems were found, endo diagnosed Hashimotos in March 2011 and I have all results from Jan of that year however I have NO clue which are useful to post for people to advise me on? One of the reasons i asked for them all at the doctor

AM PUTTING MY HEAD ABOVE THE PARAPET TO BE SHOT DOWN......
Having observed many posts on this forum I am aware that I have not seen many references to diet and the food we eat. Hippocrates said - Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food. From my studies all illness stems from the gut. Whenever I ask about gut health on this forum - no answer is
