IF Antibody test back - so what next
Following up on my previous posts (low B12, started on B12 loading shots - had second today so too early to tell results on symptoms) Finally got my IF antibody test back today Results: 2.9 U/mL (Normal: < 6 U/mL) I'm aware of the inherent reliability of the test (40-60%) so realise that it doesn't

Coincidence?
I joined this site as I am Hypothyroid and have PBC. I read that 'eating gluten was like throwing fuel on the fire of auto immune disease' and asked my Gastro if he would support me going gluten free which he did. 4 months in I was feeling well, having also cut out a lot of processed food, eating more

Bad press again for gluten free
Today in Sunday times magazine is yet another article rubbishing gluten free diets. these articles make me despair. Last week I asked my regular Friday night restaurant to please make sure pasta was gluten free.(I have hashimotos) & I could tell the owner thinks it a fad. So guess what he did? He 'muddled

Non surgical treatments?
I wonder if anyone can suggest any good ways to self-manage the symptoms of endometriosis? I had a working diagnosis of endo 10 years ago following an ectopic pregnancy and difficulty conceiving. I was on the waiting list for a 'find and fix' surgery, but my son came along before the operation did -

Is bad press for bisphosphonates a danger?
I am reading more and more on this forum how worried and scared members are to take alendronic acid and other drugs to treat osteoporosis and am concerned that many people may miss out on treating their low bone density and increased risk of fracturing their bones. My story is as follows: 2011 aged 53

possitive anti-tro value and thyroid nodule
Hallo to all I am new here... Last year I found a nodule on my thyroid, but as its size was small (.7cm) and the blood tests were ok (thyroid hormones) my doc only suggested to check it again. Last month I had the nodule checked with an ultra sound and found that it increased slightly, but, my blood

Pregnant, just diagnosed Coeliac with TSH averaging 4.5 plus low FT3 and low FT4 - doctors refusing to medicate - any ideas on what to do?
Hi everyone, I posted on here about a month and half ago: thankyou so much to all those who replied and gave me advice. Since my post, I have actually found out that I have coeliac disease (from very high antibodies not a biopsy as 5 months pregnant) and so have been gluten free for about 5 weeks.

Probably just a coincidence but ...
I started on a gluten free diet about a week ago. Gluten seemed like the only thing I could cut out, in the interests of dampening down inflamation, without risking removing something importnat out of my diet. I thought about dairy but then was concerned about not getting enough calcium to hopefully
