Isolated thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) deficiency?
Has anyone been diagnosed with Isolated TSH deficiency? I've just seen my Endo for the first time since I had my MRI on the pituitary and some other blood tests taken. Pituitary didn't show anything up and my cortisol was raised, so going to have a 24hr urine test just to see. IGF-1 came back ok along

What was in the nebuliser?
Sorry, everybody - I think this might turn out to be quite an essay! Maybe you remember me writing on here about having to cancel our holiday to Greece because of a COPD exacerbation? That was early June and since then, all has been well. The insurance company paid out (hoorah) and we spent some money

A BRIEF SUMMARY OF HOW INSULIN WORKS IN BODY.DIABETES AND INSULIN HAVE BECOME INSEPARABLE WORDS.
Insulin plays a central role in the regulation of human metabolism. The key functions of insulin are (a) stimulation of glucose uptake from circulation (b) suppression of hapatic gluconeogenesis.Together regulating glucose homeostasis. Diabetes is characterised by lack ,or relative deficiency of insulin

Low Calcium and B12
I am hypothyroid (3 years and adequately replaced on levo 125mcg). I have just got my latest blood test results back and although the GP hasn't contacted me I've looked at the results and think that treatment is required. I'm not sure if low calcium and low B12 are related but if I can understand

What impact does a 13-hr gap between pre-dinner and pre-breakfast insulin dose have on the post-prandial blood glucose of a type-2 diabetic,
diet and exercise remaining unchanged? The fasting BS being 91 mg/dl and post-lunch it's 165 mg/dl. I may pl be enlightened in the matter.

Learning About Hypoglycemia and Diabetes
Hypoglycemia is defined as having a blood glucose level less or equal to 70 mg/dL by American Diabetes Association (ADA). When blood levels drop to 70 mg/dL or below it causes palpitations, sweating, tremor, seizures, coma, and even rarely, death. Errors in medicating are among most cited causes of hypoglycemia

Any comments on the following blood results?
A friend of mine has had hypo like symptoms for some time now . She has Raynaud's disease. She suffers with endless guts problems, tiredness, and emotional disturbances. The blood test info is huge but these are most of the results. She had recently given blood and they took too much by accident, which

I have a goitre but GP says I don't... Please help with understanding my blood test results...
Hello all :) I have been lurking on this forum, and you ladies {&gentlemen?} seem very knowledgable & supportive. I am glad I found it! I was also near the fallout zone when Chernobyl happened so maybe that caused my goitre? I am paranoid about cancer, my friend died from leukaemia when he was 12 ..

Can anyone reassure me please.
I was diagnosed with hypothyroid in 2012. My results for thyroid stim hormone were >150.00 and my free T4 levels were <5. My blood glucose result was 6.5. I was put on 125mg of levothyroxine. My next blood test 8 weeks later showed my TSH thyroid stim as 13.06. My blood glucose as 4.5 and my free T4

Rationale of Low Carb High Fat (LCHF) diet
If you are a type 2 D, training your body to live with the impaired beta cells and the resultant low supply of insulin is what LCHF all about. You have to arrive at a suitable food, exercise and drug regime to lead a healthy life. As we cut down on carbs, increased fat intake becomes inevitable for

Bananas
