Will a cold stop chemo?
Hello everyone. My first chemo is planned for Thursday but I’ve started with a bloody cold today (sniffles and sneezes, no temperature as yet) - do you think it’ll stop my treatment going ahead?

Covid and flu vaccines
Managed to get both my Covid booster and seasonal flu vaccines today. They even had a large TV screen following the funeral.

A Cold & surgery
I’ve got a cold for the past few days. I feel ok at the monent, but previous colds have ended up affecting my chest. I know what to do if it does set my asthma off, but I’m due surgery on 29th September. I’m worried now that this cold could possibly delay my surgery (which I’ve waited month for). Is

Flu vaccination priority
Can anyone explain to me why my local GP practice appears to have put me in the general age banding of the over 50s category for flu vaccination instead of following guidelines written out by the NHS? I’m over 60 (but not yet 65) and the NHS online site concerning the flu jab is quite clear on this

Children’s live flu nasal spray
Morning, my Granddaughters are about to have their annual flu jab, which here in the UK is a live nasal spray. I know I need to keep away from them for a while, but cannot find anything on the NHS website to suggest how long for. Does anyone know or have had experience of this? Thanks

polyhydramnios
I’m currently 32+6 weeks pregnant with my second child and I have severe polyhydramnios (which was picked up at 28 weeks) my current AFI from today is 37cm. I am so worried about what this may mean for my baby. So far all scans have been positive, I’ve had 3 normal scans & 3 scans with Fetal Medicine

Covid autumn booster and flu vaccs
Having said I'd have my flu and covid booster separately I've just booked to have both at once at our surgery. Has anyone strong feelings either way? I've never had reactions to any of covid jabs ( Astra Zeneca Moderna or Pfizer) or to any flu jab.

Further evidence that getting cold can trigger my AF.
A couple of times during covid lockdown I had got cold after a winter walk with friends when sitting outside (not allowed inside remember) chatting and having a sarnie and I went into AF. Well it has happened again this time whilst cycling in the Pyrenees and I have recorded it on my Polar chest

hypothyroid and flu-like symptoms
Hello, I’m just wondering if there is any link between hypothyroidism and flu-like illness. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 2013 after radiation treatment for lung cancer. I feel like I have the flu approximately once a month and this has been going on for years. I never have a cough but sore

flu jab and Levothyroxine timings
Hello everyone, the invitations to have the ‘flu jab have started to be sent out, I’m assuming it’s best to leave minimum 4 hours following Levothyroxine morning dose? This will be my first experience of the jab since I started Levo.

Covid Booster
I had a message from my GP Surgery yesterday with an appointment for my booster. I think there has been some discussion about having a flu jab at the same time. This invitation was only for my booster. The surgery normally starts flu jabs in October.

How often do you get pneumonia in a year with bronchiectasis?
I am curious to see how I compare with others who suffer from bronchiectasis. So far, I have had pneumonia 3 X in an eight-month period. It seems like a lot. My last sputum test in June 2022 showed stenotrophonoma and aspergillus. I do lung clearance once daily and Ventolin 2X a day. Also, Breo Ellipta

Autumn vaccinations
I am trying to find information about best timing for the autumn Covid booster and flu vaccinations in UK? I booked both online through NHS site with no problem ll, but at different pharmacies and with a 3 day interval. As my son living elsewhere in UK has been contacted by his surgery to have both

Considering Nursing home for husband with PSP.
I have been looking after my husbsnd since 2019 with PSP although the symptoms were apparent much earlier. I've seen a dramatic deterioration over the last year or so and he is currently in hospital with aspiration pneumonia and is recovering. it's been a tough few years,I still work full time

What pox do you choose?
I choose the monkeypox, with which we will get to know very briefly for general culture. I ask people who don't like to read about diseases to refrain or read at their own risk. The idea is only one - knowledge is power! Monkeypox and blood cancer - read more here: https://bloodcancer.org.uk/news
