Low Platelet, WBC, Lymphocyte etc
Good morning, I was wondering whether it is normal for those of us with UAT/Hashimotos to have low counts on these things? Whenever I get a full test done they come back slightly low or borderline. These are the ones I'm generally low or borderline on (since around 2012) : Lymphocyte count - last

PSA after salvage Brachy
an update for those that have asked questions about Salvage HDR Brachytherapy: I’m nearly 3 months out and had PSA test yesterday. Results were: 0.5. Using Abbott CMIA. This equals the nadir in 2014. Headed in right direction. Any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.

I have osteoporosis and I took Fosamax for a while and then lost 6 teeth! I stopped taking it a while ago, but my back is giving me grief now. I am taking calcium and Vitamin D, but I need to find out whether there are any alternatives to alendronic acid.

PSA declining?
My PSA was 5.18 in 11/22, 3.26 in January 2023, and 5.88 in March 2023. I had a biopsy in July 2023 which found cancer in 3 of 13 cores. On October 4, my PSA dropped to 1.5. I had another PSA test on 11/8 and it was 1.0. I stopped taking an IM testosterone shots in March 2023 and my testosterone

Metformin and rosuvastatin
It is hard to find a report/article on Metformin's possible positive association with PC that is not full of medical speak. How does anyone know if their NKX3.1 is low or high? 3 years ago I was diagnosed with unfavorable Gleason 7, with an initial psa of 6.4. Three months later I had an RP and have

I have a profile in advanced prostate cancer. When I set it up I didn't realize there was more than one prostate cancer network/forum. People in the advanced prostate form suggested I join this one. It's been awhile, but here I am. I'm a 63 year old who had an RP in March 2021. So far my psa tests have

Treatment Update IMRT with ADT 18 months later
Follow up 18 months later. I am due for another ADT injection in December. Spoke to the Urologist and he feels 18months is enough keeping with the European standard while the Oncologist would like me to stay the course and do the full 2 years. I am in favor of 18 months also, that would be nice. Still

PSMA Score 5
My husband has a PSA of 0.97 following a prosatectomy 10 years ago and radiation. He is on Zytiga but PSA doubled in the last 6 months. He had a PSMA Scan this past week and came back with a Score 5. Wondering if anyone else out there has gotten this result and what the next line of treatment is.

Vacation from Lupron/Zytiga - Temporary or Permanent!
I have been on ADT (Lupron/Zytiga) for 2.5 years. PSA and testosterone immeasurable currently. Looking to go on "vacation" from meds. History: Gleason 8/9 with a PSA of only 1.89 (on Finasteride). CT/Bone scan did not show any definite metastasis. PSMA PET showed "possible" metastasis in 4 spots

New to the group
I have been taking prednisolone for PMR for nearly 4 weeks and have my first review this week - I'm feeling fab since starting on pred - not taking any supplements yet - should I be asking about calcium and vitamin D at my review appointment?

Starting Abiraterone and predniSONE
Tomorrow morning I take my first dose of Abiraterone (Zytiga) and predniSONE for metastatic castrate resistant prostate cancer. I don't know what kind of side effects I would get. I hope I would tolerate the treatment well. Reaching this stage of my cancer I reflect on my 12 year journey with prostate

Latest PSA! Undetectable
My latest (11/8) PSA was <0.1 ng/mL. This is my third in a row that was undetectable since finishing chemotherapy and radiation. All of my other labs look excellent and my Hemoglobin A1c was 5.4% Consistent exercise has contributed to that greatly and also how well I’m feeling I am feeling
