Tight chest but normal PF
Hi guys, I had a flare up about 2 months back and after a tough couple of weeks when I moved from Qvar to
Fostair
it helped me get things back under control. Not totally back to normal but certainly back on track.

Is Fostair as good as Seretide
I'm a lot better now but find that I need a puff of Salamol to clear chest after taking my
fostair
. I rarely used Salamol when on seretide. Is
fostair
the problem?

Struggling - any advice?
It would mean taking 8 puffs in total per day (4
Fostair
and 4 Clenil) and the medication appears to be the same as the
Fostair
- i.e. beclometasone dipropionate. Will it have any effect? Is there something else I should be trying?

Discomfort under ribs
It is lower down than chest tightness (mid chest) under the sternum, but disappears when I take
fostair
inhaler so I presume it is related to asthma? I have a lot allergies; inhaled, food and contact. Plus I also have GERD. This seems specific to pollens.

Does rain trigger asthma?
I had 4 x
fostair
200, 1x spiriva and 8x ventolin by 11am. I was thinking about calling an ambulance . I’ve been at my sons sports day all morning and we go outside to the freshly mown field and my symptoms clear up.

Is it likely i have COPD?
I'm now on
fostair
200/6 4 times per day and its greatly helped my breathing but something just feels not right, like a labored, tight breathing sensation all day, everyday. Occasional clear mucus coughed up but thats only a couple of times a week maximum. The rest of the time its just a dry cough.

Latest advice for stepping up and down inhalers.
Currently on
Fostair
200/6 nexthaler two puffs twice a day and monkelaust. (Since november 2017) What stage does that make me? It used to be 12 weeks without any symptoms e.g not needing Ventolin. Thank you

Lowering steroid inhaler
I don’t really understand why this happens because if I was to take 1 puff of 200 and 1 puff of 100 just at night and nothing during the day then I would have no issues during the day but the double dose of
fostair
does cause me chest tightness.

Seretide going out of production?
I've recently been moved from seretide evohaler, which was great, to
fostair
, which I don't think to be so good. My GP tells me I can't go back to Seretide because the manufacturer is ceasing production. Is this correct and, if so, is there a better alternative?

Paranoid Mum
We have been to see respiratory doc today who was shocked at the amount of steroids so has reduced this, to 3 week course, and says to use
fostair
4 times a day even though it’s not licensed for it, he says will help.

Update
My peak flow has been average, I haven’t been short of breath, wheezing or had any of my usual symptoms but was taking
Fostair
when my cough started to get worse. Long and short of it is, my asthma isn’t the problem at all, it’s anxiety.

Problems with meds?
I also realised that I needed either
Fostair
or a replacement. My cough had gone but I was struggling with my breathing. Reluctantly, iwent back to my
Fostair
. Result, breathing back to normal and no cough. The reason....my cough wasn't being caused by the meds but the high pollen levels around.
