Update

Hi all!

So just wanted to update those who gave me advice last week when I was feeling very down about things.

After some serious thinking and talking to family and friends, I saw my asthma nurse on Monday as I wanted to ask her if my cough could possibly be being caused by something other than asthma. My peak flow has been average, I haven’t been short of breath, wheezing or had any of my usual symptoms but was taking Fostair when my cough started to get worse. Long and short of it is, my asthma isn’t the problem at all, it’s anxiety. This year has been pretty hard, so it didn’t sound far fetched, I’ve been referred to a well being clinic and have my first appointment tomorrow.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who responded to my initial post last Thursday when I was feeling particularly down, I’ve felt a real sense of community here and it’s lovely seeing people with a common issue helping each other. I’m sure most of us are strangers to each other but the fact that we can all come together and support each other gives me such hope, the world is full of more good than we think.

best wishes to you and i'm glad you are in control and aware of the causes, my eczema and asthma got a lot worse during a stressful period so i totally understand, good luck with the well being class!

Good luck, 15designs. Hope the well being clinic helps. Should do if it is in fact anxiety causing the problems. If no improvement, badger your GP for medical help. Anxiety is often blamed, and certainly can be an exacerbator of asthma...I should know, I've just moved house!.....but if no improvement after well being clinic, assume might be something else.
