Help and Opinions on Prolia for Osteoporosis
After breaking 3 ribs for no reason and my bone density much worse, the rheumatologist, endocrinologist and GP felt Prolia may be the next step. There is no way to know what caused the ribs to break. I have taken Actonel, Boniva, Forteo and Fosamax already. I really did not want to consider this because

Information about REMS Echolight scan for osteoporosis
Does anyone have experience with this new type of bone scan that measures both bone density and bone quality? It has been used in Europe but is relatively new to the US. I am interested in this because I have very low DEXA scores in my spine -4.1 and hip -2.8. No fractures to date but my doctor would

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
I have read about a treatment called
Forsteo
/teriparatide. Does anyone have experience of this? I understand it's more difficult to access and is more expensive. I'm interested in it because I've read it actually creates new bone growth as well as strengthening existing bone.

After joining this group last week I got the best advice on what eye drops to use after months of torture. Ordered hylo forte and the relief is immense. Had 6 tubes of blood taken today at drs to test for autoimmune disease and many other things. I know it will take time. But a huge Thankyou for eye

GP changed hylo forte to Evolve
hello everyone, My gp has changed my eyes drops and I have severe dry eye from sjorgrens and I don't get on with this new product. I did try it but it is not as good as hylo forte. My gp refuses to change it. Has anyone else had this problem and how did they resolve it? Its so frustrating to take away

Micronutrients used in study protocol reversed my osteoporosis though taking prednisone for PMR
After I couldn’t tolerate AA and Forteo landed me in hospital for shortness of breath I researched a study protocol used in Canada which had good results. This was the COMB protocol using micronutrients: It used: fish oil, K2, D3 and strontium Citrate. I followed this for only a year and half because

Just worked out why drops are messed up
Make yourself a drink, and read this, I went to the hospital last October, at the time I was on Dorzolomide twice daily both eyes, hylo forte as and when required, subsequent hospital letter had current meds as above, and Latanoprost once left eye, Dorzolomide twice right eye, Latanoprost was discontinued

Long running prescription issues
I've had problems getting my drops for the last year, can get all my other meds with no problems, but recently it's getting really bad, I should get 10ml Dorzolomide& Timolol monthly, the last 2 scripts had given me 5ml, enough for 2 weeks, also it appears that GP surgery have over ruled the eye hospital

Prolia vs. alternative vs. Forteo?
Hi, I'm new to this forum and wondered if anyone had any advice. I've got quite bad osteoporosis in my spine (-3.7 T score), and I have osteopenia in my hips. I'm 59, have always been quite thin and not terribly athletic, and lactose intolerant. No fractures yet. The endocrinologist has prescribed

Dexa scan results while on prednisone and using the COMB micronutrient protocol.
After being diagnosed with osteoporosis 2 years ago I had tried Alendronate and couldn't tolerate it; Tried Forteo for a couple of months but ended up in ER with shortness of breath. With my rheumatologist and internist approval I followed the Micronutrient protocol for 1 1/2 years - while taking prednisone

Bit of worry about Evenity
I'm a 60 yr/old female, fit and active, and just diagnosed with osteoporosis (-3.2 on a couple of vertebrae, -2.5 for rest). I'm in the US and was referred to both an endocrinologist and a rheumatologist and both of them recommended Evenity. My insurance will cover, and I have low risk of CV (a main

Any difference in gains taking forteo at night instead of morning
Has anyone made gains taking forteo at night instead of morning? I read an article which says that you only make half the gains taking it at night instead of the morning. I am getting really bad insomnia and wondering if changing it to the night instead of the morning will make a difference. Or if anyone
