Hi, hope it's OK to ask this. I recently changed from relvar 184 1 puff od to fostair 200 2 puffs bd as my asthma wasn't well controlled following having covid 6 weeks ago. My peak flows had gone back to my usual of 450 and my cough had improved. This week I've picked up another respiratory virus

Asthma misdiagnosis. Could it be heart issues? Any advice would be great đâșïž
Hi everyone! I am twenty years of age. For as long as I can remember, I have always hated exercising. This is because I have always struggled to breathe properly, when exercising. As a young child, I quickly grew to despise going on family walks, because of this. It was suspected I could have asthma

Slowly but surely.
Was just getting used to impared breathing due to the hot weather. When my on the phone review came up. So now, just finished four days steroids. 6 tablets every morning. Didn't have any real effect for two days and then felt a lot better but now struggling again. I suppose it's all those chores I had

CEV Criteria
Hello I know shielding is not really a thing at the moment but I was wondering if anyone knows what the criteria is to be considered CEV (Clinically Extremely Vulnerable) because of asthma? My asthma has deteriorated quite significantly over the last few months. I've not had to be hospitalised because

Puzzled by asthma symptoms and then no symptoms
Last year I suffered from symptoms that lead me to suspect late onset asthma. On several occasions I woke in the night with difficulty breathing. I was suffering from frequent coughing fits and on two terrifying occasions found my self gasping for breath after a short walk. Phone conversations with

Chronic chest pain is making me crazy
Hello lovely people, I hope my cry for help is on the right forum. I've been having bad chest tightness and breathlessness for about 4 months now and it's progressive... Been calling my GP and going to a&e many times with chest x-ray, blood work, ECG results that were fine. No spirometer test as gp said

Intense Stabbing in centre of chest
Hi everyone, just wanted to say thank you I find this forum so helpful and reassuring that there are so many of us experience the same problems, not that makes it ok but knowing others have the same symptoms and issues helps me get through the days. I wonder if I canâŠ. ask does anyone else have this

Long-term asthma recovery queries
Hi all, I suppose this is a general question about long-term asthma recovery, as this is uncharted territory for me. Or if it's even asthma-related. In May 2020, I had several asthma attacks, which heavily restricted my mobility for the remainder of the year. I used to go to the gym twice a week, play

Dr Andy post today about peak flow
Hi everyone If you're on the Asthma UK mailing list you may have got an email today from Dr Andy about using your Peak Flow to record symptoms. I find my PF doesn't really reduce when my asthma kicks off, but it is very informative and useful. But I would just add one thing and I don't know if anyone

Not every breathing symptom is asthma!
Tentatively posting this because itâs perhaps controversial on an asthma forum - but it is also really important. Itâs often assumed that any breathing symptom is asthma - those who have asthma assume itâs that because they have asthma therefore it must be that; those who donât have asthma assume they

Not sure what to do
Hi. This is a first time post. I've struggled to keep my asthma under control for 5 months, since my vaccine. I had a bad flare up 2 weeks ago. My doctor prescribed Prednisone 40mg for 5 days plus antibiotics. This didn't seem to help, and I returned to the surgery on Tuesday. Doctor said my chest is
