High MCV Doesn't Respond to Anything?
Hi Everyone, I am brand new to the forum. For 20 years (maybe a whole lifetime) I've had a high MCV of around 103. I have a multitude of symptoms which I call Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Most conventional docs have said this was close to range and not a problem, but given my symptoms seems like it might

Tingling extremities
Copied and pasted so apologies for any strange formatting! This is my first post on the PA page. Hello - I posted a few weeks ago on Thyroid UK as I was getting tingling in my feet at night and, after hot baths particularly, my fingertips. That's now progressed to my feet tingling all the time and

Difference between PA and B12 deficiency
I’m confused on something with this. Most of you here have PA which, correct me if I’m wrong, means that you lack intrinsic factor to absorb B12 even though you are getting B12 in your diet. What is the difference between that and someone like a vegan who develops B12 deficiency and can absorb it.

Is doctor's remark accurate?
I'm in the beginning stages of possibly getting diagnosed, and asked my doctor about the specific testing and got this response: "MTHFR is part of a cascade related to formation of homocystine. We will only see issues with this if your B12 level is low, not high. We know that your body is absorbing

Intrinsic factor test
My B12 levels are good at the moment but I’m considering having intrinsic factor test today at the doctors. I know the test isn’t that reliable but would my good levels of B12 interfere with test? I read somewhere that they might. I haven’t supplemented with a spray for a fortnight. I have had breakfast

Intrinsic factor antibodies
Can someone explain this test to me please. I got a numerical result and reference range rather than positive or negative as is the usual explanation in just about every source i can find. (2.7 result 0-6 range) Surely if you have any antibodies it’s positive but having a range suggests they should

Falling b12
Hi, I’m. A bit concerned about falling b12 levels as I thought they we had stores that lasted years. In June 18 I had a raft of tests that showed b12 at 159, so right on the bottom of the UK “normal” range. intrinsic factor antibodies test which came back at 2.7 (0-6) parietal cell antibodies test

High active b12
Hello, I just had my active b12 test results back from Vitapath. Its come back as 128 which I think is above the max range of 108. Does this mean my body is not using the b12 correctly? I have looked at my genetics and don't recyle b12 well. My standard b12 levels were very high but intrinsic factor

Intrinsic factor
I’m confused. Does negative IF mean you have the enzyme or not? Or you have the antibodies? Or not? Pleased to say my B12 count at 8 weeks was excellent - 2000 - so the 12 weekly jabs may be working and sufficient. So why am I getting neuro symptoms after 5/6 weeks? Pins and needles, the staggers,

GP stopping my B12 injections despite a positive intrinsic factor antibody result
I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2007. In 2010 I suffered a numb tongue and extreme fatigue - my b12 level was 117. I tested positive for intrinsic factor antibody and was told I had pernicious anaemia and would be on b12 injections for life. In 2013 I relocated to the seaside so registered

Should I ask for PA test?
I’m not sure what to do. In 2016 I had low b12 reading and doc advised loading doses. I have recently had gastro issues and had an endoscopy which looked normal apart from slightly lax valve. I was diagnosed with Graves in 2003 treated with RAI in 2005. I’m worried about PA as Endocrinologist wrote

What causes my b12 deficiency?
Hi everyone, long story short, since my last post I had an appointment with my Doctor scheduled anyway as it was for a review of the prescriptions I have in order for him to renew them. He was actually keen to discuss it all with me and so I got to ask his opinion on what is causing my deficiency. I
