ADT and Heart Disease
Rejected surgery in favor of ADT (
firmagon
and zytiga) followed by brachytherapy and SBRT. ADT just started this month and already he has some indication of heart arrhythmia. Not sure if he will need new cardiovascular meds or pacemaker. I am in awe of the knowledge and courage of this community.

He started receiving
Firmagon
in April (PSA went down to 13 and then went to 24 and now 36) and so they now consider him to be castrate resistant. The medical oncologist has left him on
firmagon
and has added zytiga and the steroid dexamethasone.

Hi all, new to the site.
Started on
Firmagon
in December 2017, PSA dropped to 1.41 almost immediately. Also prescribed Calcium and Vitamin D tablets by the Oncologist, a great guy. Started Docetaxel Chemotherapy in February 2018, 10 cycles every 2 weeks.

Now on ADT, losing strength, just started hitting the gym but would like to hear your workout schedule/program
Had my first
Firmagon
shot and want to create a workout schedule. I understand that instead of heavy lifting it is now lighter weights and high reps. My question is how many machines or free weight exercises do you use and how many reps of each ? How much cardio ? Do you use a trainer or PT ?

1 Month Lupron? Firmagon injected in hip?
I had a
Firmagon
injection before my surgery but it was into my abdomen, which I had an injection site reaction to. I'm wondering if anyone is getting
Firmagon
injected into their hip rather than their stomach?

Firmagon results; on to next steps.
Have just completed my initial hormone treatment of being on
Firmagon
for past 30 days, with PSA down from 20 to 2.6. Pleasantly surprised; minimal side effects. Now started 3 mo shot of Elligard and daily doses of Zytiga and Prednisone.

Concerned Wife
He's Gleason 7 4+3 and has done radiation to his upper spine (cancer gone), he's getting
Firmagon
and finished his 4th round of Chemo (Docetaxel) . His PSA at diagnosis in March 2018 was 1900 it is now 108. I fear his PSA is not coming down fast enough.

Don't Give Up Hope. 4 Years after a dreadful dx of metastatic PC with a 209 PSA and bone mets, I am still undetectable
I have been on Degalirix (
Firmagon
) injections on a monthly basis since then as well 50 mg of Casodex daily and today I just had full labs showing that I am still undetectable ( PSA <0.02) and all other blood work is perfect.

Treatment update
Treated with
Firmagon
, Xgeva, Casodex, Prednisone and Docetaxel. Fingers still numb and fingernails a mess from the Chemo. When Chemo ended, switched to Lupron and Zytiga. PSA went untetectable before the end of Chemo and has remained that way. Scans look as clean as they can.

Just started Firmagon, question on PSA
I started
Firmagon
about 10 days ago. Just mild side effects so that's good. I had my PSA and T checked a week after starting. PSA had dropped from 38 to 14 and T from 9 to 0.4. I was expecting my PSA to drop more, somewhere below 1. Was my thinking wrong? Thanks.

Lupron versus Degarelex (firmagon)
My MO started me with Degarelex (
firmagon
) saying that is was far superior to lupron as it was a larger molecule. I got less than 4 months of success with it before my psa which dropped to 0.15 started doubling every 2 weeks.
