Iron Supplements for those very sensitive to gluten
Hi, I'm being prescribed iron supplement (
ferrous
sulphate
). GP assures me it is gluten free but GPs and Pharmacists don't understand gluten in ingredients. The pharmacy is not answering their phone when I call to find out the brands they have so I can do my own check.

Iron question
Hi all. I was reading a recently cited Mayo Clinic paper, and it stated that "A common oral iron regimen [for RLS] is 325 mg of ferrous sulfate (65 mg elemental iron) ..." I've been taking two 25-mg capsules (every two days) of Ferrous Bisglycinate Chelate (the Ferrochel trademarked brand, marketed

Ropinirole Not Needed!
Long story short, spoke to another GP at my surgery (who was confused as to why I hadn't been notified & absolutely disgusted that I hadn't) who put me straight on
Ferrous
Sulphate
(210mg 3 times a day). No sooner had I started taking the iron, the RLS has completely stopped.

An update on fluoxetine withdrawal and RLS
The other change I made since last month is that I now was take

every other night (rather than nightly) and have slightly reduced my HRT (apart from testosterone, which I’ve kept the same) after I read that another forum user found her symptoms worsened on it.

Hi all, once again could you knowledgeable people please pass comment on my most recent results. Unfortunately due to dr requesting follow up test within two months the lab has rejected some of the tests, annoyingly, I wanted to know if my vitamin intake and iron tablets may have improved my ferritin

Thriva Blood test results- some help please :)
I was advised on my last post to get my bloods done again and go from there- so that's what I've done! Thriva were one of the cheaper options, but with an advanced Thyroid profile, I can highly recommend! So easy to test at home and send off, got my results back in 2 days on their app! Background: I

Neice Diagnosed hypothyroid and aneamic .why the low dose ?
Hi my niece has been diagnosed hypothyroid and aneamic . So she was given 25 mg thyroxine and told to have bloods done again in 6 weeks . And also given ferrous fumarate for low hb . I have asked her to get her results off doc to see . Despite the results though I feel 25 is too low a starter dose .

Epsom salt bath
I have AF and mostly controlled raised blood pressure, so my question is can I use Epsom salts to soak in a a bath? I have heard it can really help with muscular aches and pains, plus is it a way to get magnesium into the body? My lad tells me it’s also really relaxing ☺️ Thank you .

Feeling worse after taking Ferrous Fumarate?
So, I’ve been taking Ferrous Fumarate for severe (from what I remember) iron deficiency anemia and I was told I’d feel better after 4 weeks but it’s been about 6 and I feel even worse than I did when I started taking it. Is this normal? I’ve talked with my mum, who’s talked to the doctors and both said

Iron supplementation and flares
I'm currently trying
ferrous
sulphate
again, at just one 200mg tablet once a day. I've been coping ok by taking pain relief at the same time, but with each does the pain is increasing. My Dr wants to refer me to a Haematologist next to see if this might shed some light on what is going on.

Tales from the IC: Getting to know my Metatarsals (# 1)
Warning: long but hopefully informative post. Ok, so for the first time since starting to run nearly 2 years ago, I’m taking a cautious step back and am preparing to be on the Injury Couch for a stint. With this I hope to minimise the risk of a more serious injury. About a week ago, I noticed the

Its all about the Iron. Do I go on taking Iron Fumerate?
So it is almost exactly a year since I first got the diagnosis of RLS, having suffered for many years with the symptoms. I share the track of the year to add the growing amount of information for us all. In the past year I have stopped drinking alcohol, drink no caffeinated tea, one cup of coffee in

What to do if GP 'not bothered'!? Ferritin + Hashimoto's
My ferritin level always scrapes along the bottom of the range but GP and endo are unbothered. I'm on T3 which I think I might not need if ferritin was mid-range and I could convert Levo but even that doesn't motivate the doctors to help. I imagine (?) they are thinking: "well you're a vegan, just

Advice on ferritin of 18
So here are my recent b12 and ferritin results. B12 looks ok, but ferritin is 18 (range is 15 - 300).I’m tired and my hair is falling out. My TSH is suppressed, and T3 and T4 towards the top of the range. I have no worries about these levels. Question?- will maintaining my healthy, iron rich diet, along
