I'm confused about tapering off Medrol. I'm at 4 mg now and wake up with a lot of pain from PMR I've had for 1 1/2 years. One rheumi said I should not be in pain before reducing. Another one told me we need to find something else to mitigate the pain because being on steroids too long will cause problems

Wedding Success!
Just letting all the good folk here find out how I survived the wedding ! They all encouraged me through a bad spell a few weeks ago. I was totally dreading the first of three family weddings on Easter Sunday(three sons marrying in three months!) as I was having a miserable time with return of horrid

Medrol vs HC?
Does anyone know the possible benefits of Medrol as compared to HC in someone with adrenal fatigue? When would Medrol be preferred to HC? Has anyone tried both?

Horrendous visit to GP, seronegativity rears it's ugly head again!!!
Hi Everyone, I apologise first,as this will likely be a rant, but I am still so upset I just have to share my experience of this morning. I was diagnosed finally after decades of suffering by an excellent Rheumatologist as having Seronegative Sjogrens and possibly Lupus eighteen

Armour or Erfa?
Sorry, I realise this has been discussed before! I was put on Erfa Thyroid along with Medrol for adrenal fatigue a year ago, by a doctor trained by Thierry Hertoghe, after ten years on thyroxine only. Since then, I have had my ups and downs. I seem to do better on the smaller pills of Erfa (30 and

Have Sjogrens diagnosed and maybe Lupus and am awaiting my next Depot Medrol injection in early Feb. Am on very low dose Prednisalone , can't take more as it upsets my stomach but as my steroids levels decrease as I get near to my next injection I get excruciating pain under my arms and swollen glands

Seronegative Lupus?
Hi everyone, Am feeling so miserable and sorry for myself which is pathetic when I read how so many of you out there suffer too. Most of the problem is that I have been ill with some sort of mystery autoimmune thing for about forty years or even more. After numerous visits to

Inactive lymph nodes? Mine don't seem to be working could that be PMR related?
Last week I had a very nasty suspected infected insect bite on my face which became very swollen and alarmed my GP so much he sent me to a specialist ENT to get it drained. The ENT sent me for an ultrasound which ruled out a dental or bone abscess but showed that the lymph glands in my neck had not reacted

Does anyone else get allergic reactions from vitamin supplements?
I've had PMR for four years and am down to 4mg of Medrol with the odd flare now and then. I am getting rather fed up because I would like to take a multivitamin supplement but every one I've tried so far has given me an allergic reaction, a sensation of pins and needles and a hot tingling sensation.

Intern who prescribed azithr will be at the hosp./Thursday.Will call then
Hi, I called the hospital to speak with the treating intern from last night and she will not be working again, until Thursday. Will be on the phone, tomorrow, with my doctor. medrol and macrolides are not a good mix. The intern apparently believed I had "rheumatoid artheritis" not "temporal arteritis

Emer. Room/Last Night/Pneumonia/prescribed azirothmycin
Hi Everyone, Thanks for the good information on quilones and medrol. I am taking methylpredisolone and I don't have as bad a reaction, as happens with prednisone. They gave it to me during a flare, by injection. Last night at the ER, I was diagnosed with pneumonia. The doctor prescribed azirothmycin

Is my immune system on the blink?
I've had PMR for four years, I started on 20mg of Medrol and am now down to 4mg ( there have a few flares along the way) I want to reduce the dose even further if possible. I'm feeling good as regards muscle pain but in the last few months have been plagued by minor infections. A bad sinus attack, oral

Found link to Christine Northrup and information on adrenal dysfunction
Hi Everyone, I found the link from Christine Northrup on adrenal dysfunction. Her advice is good and I find it helps.A major difference is that we are not dealing with stress related Adrenal dysfunction, it is medicine related, but the advice is good, it seems. Another bad storm here and I missed

Recovering adrenal function study, posting
Hi All, Received shot of methotextrate today, 2mgs for the week. Have been feeling better. Doctor is ok with my taking 3mgs per day of medrol. Did some research and found this study on recovering adrenal function. This testing seems to show positive results. If I am reading it correctly, it can take

Hi.thank everyone for their support last weekend.
Have been to the rheumatologist this week and had the methetextrate injection on Monday and the Cushing's type symptoms don't seem so evident, nor as bad. Very bad weekend. and I have had a couple of bad days this week. The advice is best, if you feel this -- give yourself "leave" to relax. This

Is it possible to have methetextrate withdrawal, which includes heavy fatigue? Or is it the adrenals not highly functioning?
Missed the appt. w/Dr. this Wed. for injection of methetextrate and slowly since Wed. have been feeling more and more fatigued. today it's very bad. I took the 3 mgs of medrol. I called the Dr. and asked about taking 2 more mgs of medrol. She said, "Yes" to do it. I did, felt better for a few hours
