How Personalised Medicine is used to target variations unique to each cancer tumour
Some of us can achieve a complete remission after very few
FCR
cycles for instance, whereas others only gain a partial remission after completing the full course. Some of us sadly have to cease treatment due to debilitating side effects.

Am about to start FLAIR on Ibrutinib/Rituximab arm so immunity not as compromised as
FCR
but nevertheless. Any advice or opinions welcome. (No autumn leaves either...)

Fish Test Results and Treatment Decisions
Given the level and progression rate of my lymph node load, including an enlarged spleen (but I've no idea how large)
FCR
is being recommended strongly. I'm thinking of seeking a second opinion from a CLL specialist but would love to hear from this community about this turn of events with my CLL.

Effects of dietary supplementation of selenium + iodine on growth performance, carcass characteristics + histology of thyroid gland in goats
Animals fed diet SSIP exhibited higher (P < 0.05) body weight and better feed conversion ratio (
FCR
) than those fed other diets. Dressing percentage of goats fed the supplemented diets was higher (P < 0.05) than that of the control.

Statistical analysis of REACH trial patients identifies Progression Free Survival prognostic factor for FCR patients
Why is this news about
FCR
- an 'old' immunochemotherapy treatment, so important now that we have non-chemotherapy treatments like Ibrutinib and Idelalisib? Many CLL specialists recognise that for some CLL patients,
FCR
may be a better choice.

Sinemet CR - Shortage
In South Africa there is a shortage of Sinemet-CR, the rumors are that it's going to be 18 months before there is available stock!

Protecting my husband from my cold?
My husband ( half way through cycle 5 of
FCR
) is the healthiest in the house at the moment!! We have been extremely careful about hygiene all the way through treatment and can't bear to think of infecting him now (although he started a cold last week and his neutrophils were really good ).

Are you biologically young enough for FCR?
Wondering if you are biologically young and fit enough to tolerate say
FCR
(Fludarabine, Cyclophosphamide Rituximab), or whether a gentler treatment protocol such as BR (Bendamustine Rituximab) would suit you better?

Treatment Needed?
One of my oncologist is of the view that now should start
FCR
chemo. But other is suggesting that only WBC raise is not enough to start chemo. I also got an option to start a lighter chemo LEUKRON+steroid initially to lower down my WBC. Only diffidence I feel is of fatigue...

Husband returning to treatment
After 10 months of well-managed anemia (PRCA), using cyclosporine, my husband's WBC is rising, and he's likely to need CLL treatment again (he had 2 rounds of
FCR
2 years ago). We're looking for CLL treatment options that will be less likely to trigger the anemia/blood transfusions.

Ibrutinib denied to new patients
Now 5 months later I have a total reversal of fortunes with normal counts in all areas, no palpable lymph nodes and for the first time since chemo (
FCR
} I feel normal. My energy levels are back to where they should be and my constant infections are a thing of the past. All down to Ibrutinib.

Low Platelets
I have just completed my fifth year in remission following four rounds of
FCR
(2009/10). My latest clinic appointment yesterday showed no significant enlarged nodes, lymphocytes 1.58 and all other blood results well in the normal range except for platelets.

The countdown begins
Being young and relatively healthy I'm confident (as is my doctor) that an abbreviated course of
FCR
will work quite well. I am 13q non mutated and my only symptoms have been fatigue and some swollen lymph nodes.
