Symptoms after oral
Hi everyone! I have been struggling with this for 10 weeks after I had unprotected oral sex. I tested negative for absolutely every STI, including Hep. A, B and C. The candida test is also negative. No HIV. My END doctor already said she did everything possible and that from her point of view it

Ibrutinib advice please
As a CLL patient I am now going to start Ibrutinib next week & have been told I will be prescribed Aciclovir as well. I was prescribed this short term when I had chemo but have never had shingles. I know shingles is horrible but I think the risk is quite low so I should be interested to hear from others

Anyone with symptoms like mine?
It started with high fever, a recurring headache and red welts across my chest. I hate being ill - and hospitals - so begrudgingly went to the local hospital with my wife only to be told I had shingles and should be put in a ward immediately. However, that hospital did not a full-time skin doctor

Shingles.
New Canadian paper below warns that shingles may spuriously affect PSA. *** I caught chickenpox 45 years ago from my daughter & really should get a shingles vaccine shot. My wife, who did get the shot has since had 2 attacks. Tomorrow will be 3 years since her doctor called an ambulance to take her

Meningitis & Varicella
Anyone have experience with Meningitis and Varicella Zoster (aka chickenpox/shingles virus.) I have started to feel bad again and have been doing some research. I am starting to think it is related for my situation. I had the virus at a very young age but it actually effected my brain instead of my body

First Herpes Outbreak. Severe. Can't go to the bathroom please help.
I just was diagnosed with genital herpes. I am taking acyclovir 3 times a day and I just got lidocaine to put on to numb. It helps a little I will admit but it is still so painful. I am on ibuprofen a few times a day. I've taken baths for relief and to pee and it helps but honestly nothing completely

Diagnosed with herpes yesterday
I was diagnosed with herpes yesterday. I don’t know what to do with myself, I wasn’t really given any information by the nurse she kinda just said “you have herpes” and sent me on my way. She said she’s 99% sure it’s herpes and did a swap and sent me for a blood test. I’m just praying that it’s not it

SHINGLES
I have posted this to advise that CABg patients can ask for a shingles injection, like the flu jab. At this time only available to those over 70, however Dr's will take cabg as high risk. I was diagnosed with Shingles last night after an emergency appointment. Symptoms started with a feeling of having

Herpes outbreak not going...
Hi guys, I’ve had herpes type 2 for five years now. Over the years outbreaks have decreased a lot. I started having a outbreak last Friday. I had a cold so didn’t surprise me I got one. However normally my outbreaks will go within a few days but this one shows no signs of going and is so so painful!!

Venetoclax and ibrutinib trial
Hello, I’m on month 19 of a 26 month trial taking Venetoclax & ibrutinib plus aciclovir, co-trimoxazole, lansoprazole & allopurinol to counteract side effects caused by the Venetoclax & ibrutinib. My last consultation shows no evidence of CLL anywhere. This is great news but I’m thinking why I should

Husband diagnosed with VM, then told he never had it?
My husband has recently spent almost a week in hospital after being sent by his GP with suspected viral mengingitis. His symptoms came on one day with a headache which grew progessively worse. He already suffers with cluster headaches so assumed it was an episode, but when he went to bed he ended up

RELIEF FOUND
Hi everyone, This is my own case story. I amazingly found relief to my pain, but have fewer medical problems than many of the people on this site: I am 44 years of age, have always had excruciating periods since the age of 12 years (more painful than labor contractions), and have been through 2 c-sections

Update on Round 2 FCR
Hi everyone! As promised I would let you know how it's going. Round 2 was uneventful as well ! It was such a relief to not have any side effects. I noticed I was a little tired one extra day after chemo was done. First round I was tired and not so hungry for 2 days. This time it was 3 days. Don't

Build your body
Yea that’s likely an outbreak. It’s called viral shedding without blistering. The burning when u pee is likely bc of blisters in your urethra. So here’s the honest truth about antiviral meds. They are made by pharmacy companies to create dependence. If you start them, they clear a breakout by minimizing

What to expect next?
Hello all. I haven’t posted for awhile. My Dad completed 5 rounds of taxotere and tolerated it well. Now he’s hospitalized for esophageal ulcers and is on acyclovir IV. The onc is stopping the Chemo & prednisone. He’s comparing the new CT of his chest, abdomen and pelvis. The hospitalist showed me the

Herpes inspiration; struggling 😞
Hi everyone, I’m in need of some inspiration with genital herpes. Long story short, I’ve had it for a year and a half and most of that time I’ve been on acyclovir. Decided to go on a break from the tablets just over a week ago and I’m still experiencing an outbreak after a week in from not taking them

Addison’s Blood Test
I have my blood test next week and I’ve stopped taking ashwagandha but wondered if I can still take other vitamins and supplements. I want accurate results without anything interfering. So wanted to check if I could still take B12, CoQ10, aspirin and Aciclovir as these are my key daily tablets I find

Shingles
I have had shingles 7 times - currently off work - and each time when I am ill and doctor sends me for a blood test it shows underactive thyroid.
