Hubby and emphysema
I have read, that the person who has
emphysema
should in the first thing quit smoking if they smoke and get little bit exercise into their everyday life with healthy eating. What about, if they are not willing to do that? How is the disease progressing then?

Asthma questions.
I was borm 3 months early and suffered a pneumothorax and
emphysema
when I was a month old or so. All through my life, I've had recurrent chest infections, bronchitis, pleurisy, tracheitis and normal chest infections.

Just joined and confused
I hope everyone is well over the holiday season...I was diagnosed with
Emphysema
3 years ago with the doctor saying it's nothing to worry about because I stopped smoking 20 years ago (I am 60) and because there were only a couple of tiny air pockets visible in the Cat scan.

My guardian angel
I’ll keep it as brief as I can because now that I know I’m on borrowed time with lung fibrosis and
emphysema
I feel the need to get things off my chest. I think I am watched over by a very attentive guardian angel. In the year 2000 at the age of 50, I suffered three heart attacks.

Cold weather
I’ve got bronch and
emphysema
and it seems like I’m almost having an exacerbation since the properly cold weather has set in. Don’t think it’s a full on infection so does anyone find that the cold weather just makes things worse?

Hi, new here, recently diagnosed with mild COPD
I'd previously (a couple of years or so earlier) had spirometry tests following coughing up some blood and was told by a specialist at the local hospital that I was ok; I had two uncles who died of
emphysema
and asked specifically about that, and was told that I definitely did not have it.

New to site and husband newly diagnosed with copd.
He showed us the ct scan and pointed out that there was "just a tiny bit of
emphysema
" on the top of his lungs (he was a former smoker). Said he wanted to do a breathing test to make sure the pleural effusion wasn't causing breathing issues. My husband wasn't having any issues whatsoever but ok.

PIP FOR COPD
I have read the assessment report, which showed the assessor had no understanding of
emphysema
/copd whatsoever. She seemed to believe that because I had muscular strength, there was nothing wrong with me.

I need to find a way forward after damaging my lungs
A recent CT scan showed that I have moderate
emphysema
but I have 37% lung function left so am severe. I came on here tonight as I have been very unwell for the last few days. Very breathless and lots of mucus. Taking prednisolone and antibiotics at present.

Working with emphysema
I I work as a carer in the community and have mild
emphysema
. When I was diagnosed, I went to my employers and explained the state of play. My job entails waiting around in my car, sometimes over an hour, to go in to my next client.
