Pooh poor you how horrible, it's difficult to turn health around when you are hit by infection after infection. May I advise you begin with your diet....of course you may be eating very healthily! But I find get lazy with mine, so now and again I go on a big healthy soup/vegatable smoothie diet. And proper relaxation to bring healing, so perhaps a CD listen to help with that. And then some very gentle exercise to get your endorphins and immune system going. Think postive thoughts....and sing happy songs :-) Enough to be going with eh? Hope you are feeling better very soon. PollyP

I have a similar problem, The answer I got was, if your feet are normal in the morning but swell during the day it's to all to do with your lung infection causing your heart not to pump as well as normal. Put your feet up during the day, but do talk to a GP they can provide the correct pills for your problem.

This is the reply I got too. Mine are normal in the morning.

When I told my Doc that he said "That ok then don't worry about it, keep your feet up as much as possible and it sort it's self out"

Yes that is the attitude I'm taking. If they are normal in the morning I'm accepting nothing to get too worried about.

My doc said same as moneal, and relating it to a gravity. Always best to chat with your doc about this Bengunn so things can be checked out further.

Best wishes BC

Hi Twiceshy.Lying on bed when i read your reply and thought l'de give it a try and could do it unaided.Took it 1 step further and supported my hips on my elbows and peddled my legs albeit not for long (breathless).Did'nt find it too hard as iam quite slim and might icorporate it in my exersise regime. Thanks for the tip ,seems such a long time since i did any bedroom gymnastis.ha ha.Love Bengunn.xxxx

Lol like it :) ;)

when leg is raised;ask family member to slowly move the leg towards your chest;do the same with other leg.you should feel the pull of muscles at the back of the legs;any discomfort stop and rest,,it is supposed to be good for the heart to,but we are all different levels of this devil copd and each of us are different,.but in sharing we can combine our knowledge.xxx

in reply to

My physio told me to do this when I had bad back, but it's good if physio can check patient is doing it right so as to avoid injury.

in reply to

in reply to

Its good to share for sure. Its good to get different views from different people, it helps to see things from different angles and be more aware of different options and considerations that may be helpful or not to each of us. This is where sharing comes into its own and how we can help each other. Shaking hands in friendship :)

Hi Bc.Reguarding my slightly swollen ankles i came off furosimide 5 years ago they were a right pain ,have'nt had any probs since.May be all the infections have something to do with it.Bengunn.

in reply to Bengunn

Could be Bengunn, the drugs can have these sorts of side affects. When you saw the doc did you mention about the swelling? Sitting still for long periods could also result in swollen ankles, but I would say if your swelling continues and if it gets any worse definitely mention it again to the doc.

Hope you are soon feeling better and swelling subsides.

Best wishes BC :)
