Anyone had problems taking Aminophylline hydrate. upset stomach, colic like? Doctor says no alternative ?

I've severe COPD emphysema, asthma and other health issues, I take spirva and have recently been taken off qvar and fostair and put on seretide and aminophyllline due to increased breathlessness.

Yes I was prescribed aminophylline during a hospital stay after a bad bout of pneumonia. Whilst I was on high dose steroids the side effects of aminophylline were neglible but on completing the course of steroids I was dizzy. Had nightmares, was sick ,had diahorrhea and really painful colic. I was back to normal in no time after stopping them. Don't take them if the side effects are worse than the benefit. Maybe give GP a ring and explain . Hope you soon feel better

Thanks for reply, back to doctors next week as very short of breath and I've finished 3rd lot of steroids with no improvement. I keep telling myself Spring will soon be here, can't wait.
